The app aspect of it was a key part of why it was at the top of her Christmas list. If you look carefully on the Hasbro site, the app only works with a limited number of devices. We tried on two different ones and it kept crashing, even after uninstalling and reinstalling. Neither of our devices are on the list, however (at least not the version listed). So I'd recommend checking the list and if your device is not listed, don't count on being able to use the app.My daughter loved it on Christmas Day, played with it a little a few days later and maybe once or twice since. Bought it for Christmas and it's great. The dog barks, walks, sits, whines. The only problem are the wheels. The dog doesn't turn when you walk it. It can only go straight and if it walks it to something it doesn't turn itself around. My suggestion would to have swivel wheels so the experience is more realistic. The toy seems to be nade well and does what it is supposed to do with it waking and sitting on command. It was very easy to install the battery all you need is a small philips screwdriver. This doggie cannot turn so it is good to play with it it an open area in the house or perhaps in the driveway where my daughter walks hers. The only thing iis it takes a bit for the toy to learn your kids voice so you have to let them know to be patient. They must talk directly and the toy in a louder commanding voice. You don't have to yell but whispering or low talking the toy will not respond to commands properly. I would suggest this toy for the price and entertaiment your child will receive frm it.
