The Freestyle Flex™ aims to help moms have the flexibility to pump anywhere, anytime, for 11% more milk. The pump can be shaped to fit all moms' natural breast shapes, and is compact, lightweight, quiet and USB-rechargeable so moms can express anywhere, anytime. And as a double pump, Freestyle Flex™ halves the time required to express compared to a single pump. It's also connected to the MyMedela app, enabling moms to track every pumping session, access expert tips and be part of a community of over 12,000 moms.
Double pumping with Freestyle Flex™ yields more milk in less time than pumping from each breast in turn. 2-Phase Expression® technology mimics babies' natural sucking rhythm - faster at first to stimulate milk flow, then slower to feed for more comfortable and efficient pumping. PersonalFit Flex™ breast shields can be adapted to fit your shape for individual comfort and increased milk flow. Overflow protection (a closed system) prevents your breast milk from entering the tubing and motor. Get connected - Freestyle Flex™ connects to the MyMedela app, to give you additional support and encouragement. You can use the app to track and log your pumping sessions, and create a personalized profile tailored to you and your baby.

<span itemprop="description">As much as I want to love this pump, it gave me and my husband too much stress. It was a perfect pump for every mom I should say. But the quality, too bad! Not to mention the price of this pump is not a joke. The machine suddenly stops and doesn’t want to work, after calling the customer service to troubleshoot, it started working. But then after a few weeks, the machine did not work at all. I am just using this for only 2 months. Same happened to my friend! Since I am EBF, we ended up buying another Medela breast pump (Pump in style Maxflow) while waiting for the replacement. The only good thing is that their customer service is very accommodating and provided me a replacement. I cannot recommend this product, sadly. Just get another medela breast pump model. Now, I am very anxious to use the new one (freestyle flex). Fingers crossed! Hope it will not be broken.</span>

<span itemprop="description">old freestyle was better. No bra connectors so you’re forced to buy a pumping bra which doesn’t help those with clogging issues. There’s not even an OPTION to have it. Touch screen is too sensitive. Battery life sucks. It doesn’t last me a full day’s worth of pumping (7x a day for 25-30 mins each). Had I known this ahead I would NOT have purchased the new freestyle flex since the majority of my previously purchased sets were worthless anyway. Considering the price of this pump - NOT worth it. I would have invested in another pump.</span>

<span itemprop="description">Bought this pump after seeing Medela used in hospitals, but have been severely disappointed multiple times within the 6 months of using it as an exclusive pumper. <span itemprop="name">Best pump on the market</span>
<span itemprop="description">So happy I invested in this pump. Suction is perfect. My milk has not come in yet and I still got 1oz of colostrum in 8 minutes. Love the app so it helps me keep track of when my daughter last ate. Only downside is there is no where to clip it but does have a strap to put around wrist. I wear a bravado clip on to go completely hands free. Wish this came out with my last daughter I probably would have breast fed longer. The motor isn't too loud, didn't wake my fiancé or baby when pumping at night. Worth the money hands down!</span>

<span itemprop="name">Completely Impressed!</span>
<span itemprop="description">Nearly four years ago I invested in a Medela Pump in Style to use with my first. I thought it was a great product and was planning on using it for my new baby. I was thrilled to be selected through the Stellar Product Testing Panel to try out Medela's Freestyle Flex pump.
My expectations were pretty high as I was really happy with the convenience, ease and outputs produced by my first pump. I was so surprised to discover that the new pump is even better.
The first major selling point for me is the portability of the pump -- it is tiny! It easily slipped into the pockets of my cardigan freeing me up to move about unencumbered by a backpack or tied to machine. The unmistakable rhythm of the pumping was practically pleasant! The portability made it easy for me to pump at home and to multi-task by pumping while riding in a car.
I loved the convenience of the USB-based charger. We have so many devices that there are plenty of chargers scattered around our house. I'm currently charging it while I use my computer! Plus without a ton of batteries to power it, the motor is also much lighter than my previous one.
Although my other pump had a backpack and I could wear it while I pumped it was still really hard to move around and bend, so I mostly was stuck getting milked. With the Freestyle, I was able to do boring things like dishes and fun things like make a snowman with my preschooler.
All-in-all -- I was totally impressed with the pump and would definitely recommend it to other moms looking to continue their breastfeeding journey without feeling tied down.</span>

<span itemprop="name">Best pump, efficient and quiet!</span>
<span itemprop="description">This pump is the way to go! For any mom that is needing to pump, I highly recommend the Freestyle Flex. I received this pump as a part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and am so happy I got to use it. Its so much better then my old one! I am a mother of a 2.5 year old and a 4 month old, so you can imagine how important it is for me to have a pump that works fast and is easy to carry around. The machine fits so nicely in hand, I find some other pumps can be awkward and bulky. The touch screen gives it a modern feel. A feature that I really like is the overflow protection. Other Medela pumps are open systems, so milk can possibly enter the tubing or machine. The overflow protection prevents milk from entering the machine or tubing even if in a reclined position. I found that I get a better fit with this pump and a more air tight fit as well. The soft rims on the breast shields helped with the air seal and were much more comfortable. I wish this one came with a way to have it be hands free. The freestyle came with pieces that allowed you to attach the shields and bottles to your bra. The freestyle flex, you have to buy the bra attachment separately. With the pump having a better air seal, I was able to pump more milk in less time! Now that is great! Being a busy mom, getting done pumping faster is amazing! I did find this pump to be much more quiet then others I have used. I just use the pump at home but if you were out and about and wanted to be more discreet, this pump would be great. The battery only lasts up to 2 hours but with it being more efficient, I don’t really find I charged it any more then I did my old pump, which lasted up to 3 hours. The charger has a USB at the end of the cord which would be great if you needed to charge in the car or at your computer. All in all this is the best pump I have ever used! If you need one, definitely pick this one up!</span>

<span itemprop="name">such an awesome set up!</span>
<span itemprop="description">I was given this pump to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I'm a new mom and was super intimidated to dive into the world of pumping since it always seems like such a huge hassle! This pump is easy to use hands free with the help of a pumping bra, and i liked that i wasn't restrained to one spot, for me wireless pumping is essential since you spend so much time sitting still breastfeeding (especially in the early days) sometimes I'm too stir crazy to sit still for another session!
The motor is small enough to pop into your pocket and takes up about as much space as a smart phone so its easy to charge in the same place as your other devices.
The unit is blue tooth enabled and connects to the app so you can track your pumping sessions, I also use it to track breastfeeding sessions, diapers, etc which is a nice feature since most decent tracking apps want you to pay after a trial. The kit came with a cooler bag and ice pack that i like to keep on my end table so that i don't immediately (eventually) have to run back to the fridge since I find myself getting easily distracted by this little one! Overall this pump and the extra inclusions ( like the two sizes of flanges so you can measure and use it without having to buy another size) has been easy to use and understand, it's not very loud and it works much quicker than I was expecting. Overall if this pumping system is in your price range I think you'll feel like you got your moneys worth and since it takes into consideration giving a mom a set up not it's a great group gift option.</span>

<span itemprop="description">It felt like Christmas morning opening up the box for this pump - there are so many add-ons and bonuses to help make pumping and transporting easier. I love how comfortable the shields are and I think the cooler bag to store and carry the milk in is brilliant. But definitely the best feature is the chargeable battery. With my old pump I was always tied down and had to be close to a plug. With this one I can pump both sides at once and can still get work done at work, or move around doing things for the house or the baby when I am at home. I absolutely love it and wish I had had it from the beginning. I love the digital display screen and the fact it has a timer. The only drawback is that it vibrates quite a bit while pumping. But that is a small price to pay for how efficient it is! I got my pump through the Stellar Testing Panel but I have already recommended my sister buy one for her upcoming baby!</span>

<span itemprop="name">Medela Freestyle Flex Pump Review</span>
<span itemprop="description">Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this pump to review! As a first time mom of a 4 month old who struggled with low supply, pumping has become a part of my daily life. As a previous user of the Medela pump in style, I feel like the Freestyle Flex has given me a whole new perspective on the convenience and ease of pumping. The Freestyle is super portable, small, lightweight and with a pumping bra, I can pump anywhere in the house hands-free! Cleaning the system is far simpler than with the previous Medela pumps I used as the system is much more streamlined and user friendly but still just as effective. I did not notice a decrease in milk output and also appreciated that the pump comes with 2 flange sizes so I was able to try out a smaller flange size to see if that worked better for me. I also preferred the soft plastic flange edges and felt the suction was improved and more secure than the harder plastic flanges I had been previously using. The Freestyle comes with some great accessories - detailed manual, carry bag, extra bottles, and a small cooler bag with ice pack. The part I loved best about this pump is the rechargeable aspect and not being tied to an outlet every time I needed to pump. I can pump numerous sessions (approx. 10-15 minutes each) over the course of a couple days before I need to recharge (battery recharges quickly as well!). Although the interface of the pump is very different from the Medela pump in style, a quick read through the manual was all I needed to get started and it is actually very simple to use. I would compare the pump sound to other Medela pumps - not necessarily louder or quieter. This pump has really been a game-changer in how I approach pumping, especially now that I can get comfortable on the couch or in bed without having to worry about having an outlet nearby. I will definitely continue to use this pump and highly recommend it to all moms who value flexibility and convenience in a lightweight and portable pump (but one that still does the job of a full-sized pump!).</span>

The first thing to marvel at is the overall size. The Freestyle Flex's pump is a smooth capsule shape which can be held comfortably in one hand, only a third of the size of my old pump. Medela includes a light and compact USB charger to charge the unit, compared to the larger power block I was carrying around before. When you're travelling to and from work each day (plus making discrete journeys to your pumping room!) weight and convenience makes such a difference, so Medela wins here.
Secondly, performance: This pump is very quiet, the sound emitted is bass-y and low which doesn't travel far at all. Another plus is that each side's membrane is hidden within the bottle's connector so there's very little sound from those either. My previous machine was not the loudest but I still covered it with a cushion while pumping at work to cover its higher-pitched drones (and the membranes squeaked too as they stretched back and forth).
In terms of output, there's little to choose between the two and they both do their job well. The Medela I consider more comfortable due to its oval-shaped breast shields (which I actually rotated on a slight diagonal to get the best fit which was a pro-tip from the instruction manual) and the plastic seems gentler on my skin then the rigid circular shields I used before.
The Medela has nice accessories too. It comes with a discrete logo-free shoulder bag of a good quality, and cooler with ice block. The bag fits the cooler and pump comfortably, plus any magazines or drinks to pass the time (a definite +1 to Medela). The thoughtfully shaped ice block nestles between all 4 bottles too, ensuring each stays chilled equally; It's a great design feature that shows the general attention to detail of the Freestyle Flex.
Overall the Freestyle Flex is a compact and discrete pumping system and is clearly made of quality materials - but then it is a little more expensive than my original pump. Are those extra dollars worth it if you're able to make the financial stretch? For me it's a yes, especially for travel or pumping at work. USB charging for the internal battery is a game-changer, and the weight and noise of the system was very impressive.
Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this pump.</span>

<span itemprop="name">Awesome!</span>
<span itemprop="description">Am a pumping mother for more than a year and plan to pump for another year. I have previously used the bulky pump in style.
I got the Freestyle Flex double a few weeks ago and I must say I am impressed. It is so compact compared to the pump in style making it much easier to carry around. It came with a cooler bag – with insulation that you can store the bottles in! No need to pour into the bags at work and worry about dropping a single precious drop! And no need to look for a power outlet – charging can be done at your desk while you work and it will be ready to pump when you want! Though it is easy to put together (pumping mom you can figure out the parts and how to assemble easily) and use, I highly recommend a quick review of the manual so that you know the little awesome features of the product
The pump itself is a huge improvement from the pump in style – it has a timer feature that helps you know how long you have been pumping ( making it convenient to pump at work in a room without a clock – and you can actually watch something on your phone without focusing on the clock).
I appreciated that the Expression phase is more like the way a baby would suck. With the click of the let-down button, the pump goes into expression mode in which the pressure can be easily adjusted. It is so much easier to adjust the vacuum pressure. The personalFit Flex Breast shields are so much more comfortable and easier to fit to the breast.
I wish tubing was a little longer to provide me with a little more mobility. The pump components (connectors) are also a little more complex in this model compared to the pump in style. Removing the membrane was pretty easy – but ensuring it was put back the right way was hard. If the company could place a label that would be greatly appreciated.
When I got my first pump I was not aware of what exactly I wanted and went with a pump that most were happy with. If I had to go back – I would definitely get this pump
Thanks to the Stellar Product testing for providing me with this pump to test and review! It has made this pumping mama a lot happier!</span>

<span itemprop="name">Love it! Portable, quiet, and easy to use.</span>
<span itemprop="description">As a busy mum of a 3 year old and a 3 month old I don't have much time to sit still for 15+ minutes at a time and pump. Enter the Medela Freestyle Flex! This pump is powered by a USB rechargeable battery (yay! no more having to make sure I have a stash of AA batteries in the house and in my pump bag) and it's small enough that I can tuck it into my back pocket and still be pumping while I'm busy grabbing the toddler (or myself!) a snack, letting the dogs outside, or tidying. Not things I was able to do with previous pumps, that's for sure. It's small size means that when I go back to work, I can discreetly tuck it into my work bag and I don't have to bring a whole separate bag. The USB charge capability means it can be charged on the go. Road trip? Flight? No problem! And the battery life is really good - I'm able to get quite a few sessions out of it before I have to charge it and .
The Freestyle Flex has PersonalFit Flex breast shields which are softer around the edges and more ergonomically shaped so I can sit a little more reclined or be moving around the house and the pump is still doing it's job. They're so comfortable and the pump is so quiet that I'm able to feed babe on one side and pump on the other and baby isn't disturbed. That's more than I can say for some other pumps I've tried.
I also really love the new connector body and valve design over other styles - they're so much easier to clean and assemble and milk doesn't get stuck anywhere. The only thing I don't like about the design is that I can't see the milk as I'm expressing it.
The pump is very easy and intuitive to use. I read the instruction manual but it's easy to figure out on your own, too. The y-shaped tubing makes it easy to go from double to single pumping and back again.
I gave it 4 stars because I didn't feel that it had quite as much suction as some other pumps of the same brand that I've tried but that could be a personal thing, too since this is babe #2 and well, the girls are well worn in. I'm still able to get plenty of milk efficiently and it's not something that would make me choose a plug-in-and-sit-still-for-15-minutes pump over the Freestyle Flex. Flexibility and freedom to multi-task definitely wins in my book! Thanks Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this pump.</span>

<span itemprop="name">Compact convenience for the life of a busy mother</span>
<span itemprop="description">I received a Medela Freestyle Flex pump from the Stellar Product Testing Panel and I can't express how much it changed the pumping game for me.
This pump is compact and easy to use which made travelling with it a breeze BUT the start up of using this particular pump was overwhelming for a minute. When you open the box, the first thing you see is the user manual and how thick it is. As well the manual surprising me, the amount of separated pieces the pump needs was also off putting at first, but for me personally, I appreciate detailed instructions and it helped me understand why all the pieces are necessary so I dove right in once the initial shock wore off.
The pump is very simple to use and the ability to connect to an app and charge through USB simplified it even more. It was not only convenient for tracking each pump, it was nice to not have to carry more cords/chargers than I needed to. Especially since as a mom, i already have to carry around the entire house for myself and my child, the size and convenience of this product made it easy to bring with me. It also comes with nearly everything i would need to travel with and stores so nicely in the travel bag.
The Freestyle Flex made it so much easier for me to go about daily life while pumping, whereas in the past, I had to set aside time to be able to sit and pump because it wasn't compact and wasn't cordless. So once the pumping began, I was a write off and had to dedicate time to pump each day. This pump allows for me to tuck it into my pocket so i can move around and tend to my child if needed while amidst a pump which was a lifesaver for me. The ability to tuck it away so easily made pumping more appealing because i could move around as needed. I can now accomplish more tasks at home, such as cooking, tidying up, playing with the babe (and the list goes on) while pumping rather than setting aside time to pump where I'm immobile and plugged into the wall with a bulky base.
I hope this pump serves you as well as it has served me so far. I'm very pleased with this product and innovation. I'm glad Medela kept in mind the daily chaos of being a pumping mother when they created the Freestyle Flex.
Thank you to the Stellar product testing panel for this opportunity to try the Flex and to Medela for making this product.</span>

<span itemprop="name">Freestyle Flex - an upgrade with thoughtful additi</span>
<span itemprop="description">I upgraded to the Flex for my 2nd baby, after using the original Freestyle in 2018 with my first child. I received this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. For my first, I had also used the hospital grade Symphony (also Medela) and the Ameda pumps while my child was in the NICU. I'll be predominantly comparing my experience to my time using the Freestyle (I'll call it the OG), but wanted to share my experience with other pumps at the start.
PROs:
- Very quiet
- More portable, specifically handheld vs. the OG freestyle (like a phone so more comfortable to hold/put in pockets, etc).
- Bigger parts, easier to clean
- Silicone around the shield helps with comfort & keeping it in place
- Instant syncing - makes it easier to track/monitor pumping sessions in a consolidated fashion (i.e. at end of every day rather than multiple times per day)
NEUTRAL:
- Upgrade to a closed pump system (great in theory, though not a problem for me in practice with the OG)
- Battery life is good / consistent seemingly. Wasn't a concern before given it lasted more than enough for my pumping needs (1-2x per day)
- My Medela App - I had gotten used to using a different app with my last child, so this was an adjustment. Not necessarily bad, but also - not necessarily the most intuitive.
CONs:
- Harder to look down and see how much milk has been pumped given the bottle isn't clear at the top
- Wish this actually came with a "handsfree" pumping bra or credit for one to make this properly portable / usable on the go. I currently buy those separately but for the price, would be good to have included or credited.
- Wish the bottles included nipples for feeding straight from the pumped milk bottle.
OVERALL: Very happy with this pump. I really appreciate Medela for the customer service experience I had with them for my last pump (the OG) and support they provide new moms. I feel like this is now the best pump available on the market.</span>

<span itemprop="name">Excellent and convenient double pump</span>
<span itemprop="description">The Freestyle Flex is very easy to use. The instructions are straightforward and the unit is very easy to assemble. I previously had a Swing and while I did like that as well, this one is definitely easier to assemble, primarily due to bigger, nicer membranes that I'm not worried about losing! It's also easier to clean, and the membranes (along with everything else) can be put in the dishwasher so most of the time I don't even have to worry about the washing, unless I want it done quickly. I don't exclusively pump, so I don't need it cleaned multiple times a day, but if I did, the hand washing would be relatively simple.
It is very easy to use the pump in either single or double pump mode, and there are clear instructions on how to use it both ways. I would recommend getting their pumping bra if you will be doing much double pumping as it is a pain to hold both! I am able to get a good amount of milk every time, and the let down mode seems to work really well to maximize the milk I get without spending a long time pumping.
The bag that it comes with is great for carrying the parts and seems to be a really nice quality, and I love that there is a cooler with a customized ice pack to hold up to 4 bottles of pumped milk safely as well!
The battery lasts a very long time off of a single charge - I pumped 4 separate times on a single charge and probably could have done more. It's so compact that it's really easy to take with me if I need to go somewhere to pump; most of the time I keep the motor unit in a small drawer next to where I usually pump, which is incredibly convenient. I love that it charges by USB so I'm not so worried about losing the cord or if I suddenly ran out of charge somewhere unexpected, I'm more likely to be able to recharge it. It also happens to use USB-C, which is the same as my phone, so I can charge my phone when I'm done charging the pump! Bonus.
In short, this pump is easy to use and clean, and convenient to charge, store, and travel with. Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this pump. It is making my life so much easier!</span>

<span itemprop="name">Great breast pump for the multi-tasking mom!</span>
<span itemprop="description">I could not believe the ease of use, practicality and function of the Freestyle Flex double electric breast pump! First impression of this pump was its compact and sleek design followed by how user friendly it was. The last thing a new mom wants is a complicated set up or a hard to operate device while navigating a new baby. I could not believe the suction and felt confident with how many ounces I ended up getting within a ten minute span.
This pump was a game changer for pumping while at work. Not having to rely on finding an outlet to plug into has completely changed the way of pumping for the working mom. I felt comfortable at my workplace in a location that was convenient for me. The compact size of the Freestyle Flex is also fantastic, I was able to hang it off my chair arm at work and pumped in my car with ease! Having a USB to charge the device was a neat option and created more flexibility with how and where I pumped. This concept of a USB charge port helped at work a few times.
With the Freestyle Flex I was able to pump in places I hadn't been able to before and it created a whole new world of ease and flexibility. I was able to pump in the car (parked), pumped while working around the house and just the ability to be more mobile was amazing. The main talking point is that this pump has amazing suction for a rechargeable battery and allows you to be so mobile. I am so happy and thankful to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this pump!</span>

<span itemprop="description">I was given the Medela Freestyle Flex Double Electric Breast Pump, from the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I have been using this pump 3 times a day for two weeks now, and I would like to share my experience with this product! This pump is extremely user friendly. The screen, the pump pieces, and the manual are very straight forward. What I love most about this product is how easy it is to use on the go. I used this pump many times while travelling in the car, while doing dishes, folding laundry, etc. Another awesome feature, is that the charging cord was a USB, so I could charge it in the car! I am a Medela lover, and have tried almost all of their pumps. The only "downfall" to this particular pump is that I found it took longer to empty me compared to some of their bigger pumps. If you are exclusively pumping I would recommend using this one for when you need to be "on the go" and something a bit more heavy duty when you have the opportunity to sit.</span>

<span itemprop="name">Smallest and quietest pump i have ever used</span>
<span itemprop="description">Being a mom of 4 month old twins means there aren’t enough hours in the day! I need to get pumping in when I can, to keep my supply up! I have been able to feed my boys only breast milk since 2 days old. Since my boys have arrived, I have used three different pumps, all medela.
When they were first born in the NICU I had access to a harmony pump, and really wanted to establish a good supply, so rented one for home too.
Once my supply was established, and the boys were home, I returned the rented pump and started using the medela freestyle that had been recommended and I had bought for home.
When given the chance from the Stellar Product Testing Panel to test the new version of the medela freestyle, the medela freestyle flex, I jumped at the opportunity!
Here are the pros and cons of the flex, in comparison to the other two pumps I have tried!
Pros:
SO QUITE. This is by far the quietest pump I used, when I was pumping with it my husband could barely tell!
Size. This pump is significantly smaller then the freestyle. This makes taking the pump with me much easier, as it isn’t taking up so much room in the diaper bag. It can easily fit in the palm of your hand.
Weight. The lightest pump I’ve used! Again, makes for easier travelling.
You may think that being smaller and weighing less would make this pump less powerful then it’s counterpart...not the case, I got as much or more milk then I was getting with the freestyle.
The smaller size and weight also allow me to do other things while pumping, like folding laundry, stuffing cloth diapers or cleaning baby bottles.
There is only one physical button on this pump, the power button. Once turned on, you use the digital touch display to operate the pump. This was very easy to do and use. They have also added a pause feature...this was amazing, if my boys needed me in the middle of a session, I could easily just pause the pump and continue where I left off.
Bluetooth connection to the MyMedela app. It tracks the pumping time and allows you to record how much you pumped. Had I had this app from when my boys were born I would have used it to track everything. As they are already 4 months I just used it to track pumping as I no longer track breast feeding times or wet/dirty diapers.
Flanges - the new soft comfort flanges are definitely more comfortable then the ones I got for the freestyle and symphony.
I like the part that connects the flanges to the tubing better on this pump. It is still three pieces, but there is a part at the top that can keep two of the parts connected. Also, the base is a bit bigger, and fits into my sterilizer better, and stands on their own better, meaning they don’t fall over and have to be rewashed!
The charger is now a USB charger. This is convenient because I can charge anywhere. At home, in my car, with a portal power bar! So much easier.
The pump came charged 100%. You can see the % that is left on the pump on the MyMedela app.
Cons:
This pump doesn’t have a clip on the back. The freestyle did, and I would clip it to my sports bra while pumping. Instead it has a lanyard for your wrist. I found this less convenient.
Because of the touch screen and lanyard, if you bump the pump by accident it could get changed. This did happen a few times for me, However, the fact that they have added a pause feature doesn’t make this a big deal. I just pressed play again and it continues right where it left off.
The flange sizes. In the other models it included 24 mm and 27 mm, and I used the 27. This one includes 21 mm and 24 mm. Because the pump is so new, I wasn’t able to buy extra accessories yet, so had to use the 24mm flange.
Because of the soft ring around the edge of the flange, the shape may change. This occurs once to mine when a bottle was pressed against it in the sterilizer. It did go back to its original shape once sterilized without anything against it.
My other pump included a set of other medela products to sample. A nipple, sterilizer bag and breast pads...only breast pads were included in this one.
I used the pump to 0%, but when I recharge it, it only goes up to 72%. I have used it down to 0 twice now, and both times only charges to 72%.
Indifferent:
Both pumps came with the same carrying bag. The same 4 bottles. The same cooler bag and ice pack that perfectly fits the 4 bottles.
All in all, I would and will be recommending this pump to my breastfeeding friends. The pros far outweigh the cons. Had this pump been available when my boys were born I would have gotten the flex over the original freestyle.</span>

<span itemprop="name">I Wasn't Expecting this Pump to be this Good.</span>
<span itemprop="description">I was given this pump to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I am a Pump in Style user and to be honest, I did not expect this pump to be significantly different. I thought it would be an effort to innovate that would probably not be that innovative. To my surprise, the pump is a game changer.
Here's what i LOVE about the pump:
- I am no longer confined to my kitchen island! Not having to plug it in is a true game changer. It allowed me to be less dependent on having someone there whenever I need to pump in case my baby starts to fuss. I can move with the pump, and tend to baby while pumping
- I do not miss having to use batteries when there's no outlet in sight on the go!!
- The Freestyle Flex has its own timer. So I don't need a separate timer on my phone while i pump
- The VALVES are large! I no longer have to worry about losing them in my dish rack or down the drain
- The breast shields have grip around the edges. I no longer have spills when taking the pump off. It also really helps that they give 2 sizes
- The connectors are also pretty sturdy
Here are some things you should be aware of:
- The manual says you should hear a clicking sound when you assemble the connector sets. I didn't find the "click" to be that audible. Just make sure it is shut tight and you're good to go
- There are no microwave steaming bags included in this pump.
- You will feel the pump vibrating in your hand or your pocket or wherever you are holding it. It wasn't a sensation I was expecting but did not bother me.</span>
