It comes packaged in a neat potion bottle. You start by opening up the bottle and then putting the hidden figure into the empty bottle. You then add a set amount of water and watch as the figure bubbles! You add the secret powder and then shake for a while. After the potion sits for about 4 minutes you are ready for the big reveal! The potion turned into slime and when you pull the figure out of the slime it reveals what character you get. We got a chicken! The kids had fun playing with the slime for quite a while. The only downside is that it&rsquo;s a one time use toy - including the slime. This is a cool toy, but my kids were disappointed that the experiment could only be done once and that the slime wasn't for keeping. However, the figure and container still make good things to play with. We got the duck variety, and the potion bottle it comes in is really cool and has lots of playability after you mix your concoction and see what your figure is. You do have to be a bit careful with the figure, as it's coated in a silver coating that comes off with the included slime kit. Just handling the figure caused some of the silver to wipe off a bit. The instructions could use a little work. They were fine with explaining how to mix up the included slime and get the coating off the figure, however just from reading the instructions, you wouldn't know that this is supposed to be slime! So after we had followed all the instructions and got our newly emerged duck out of the goo, the remaining stuff in the potion bottle was very very sticky. My daughter eventually got it into slime by handling it a bunch, but it took a lot of work and was very messy in the meantime. It doesn't seem as soft as i expected but the ears are soft. It has 4 different music and vibration settings with volume control. The vibration is loud enough to hear which is nice for the little little babies. It plays for 10 minutes and its portable. Its small enough for little hands to handle but not too small so it gets lost. My favorite thing is that its washable when you remove the little box inside. This is a great toy to have to use for tummy time and help develop sensory skills. I have used it during late night diaper changes and longer car rides, and even periods of general fussiniess. I thought the vibration feature was a bit strong and might not be enjoyable for any child, however, my 4 month old doesnt seem to be bothered. You can turn off the vibration feature and adjust the volume on the fully removeable sound pack. This makes the toy easily washable! Such a bonus as toys nowadays arent normally easily washed. The toy is very soft and the ears are a different texture. The only improvements would be the ease of changing between modes as the buttons are on the side of the sound pack and not on the back; and maybe having a white noise feature in addition to the music. It's well made, with different textures for baby hands to explore, and the sounds that it plays are actually soothing and not too loud or annoying. I will say that the vibration seems a bit strong, and may startle children who are easily startled. It seems like it will clean up fairly easily with a damp cloth but I would hesitate to put it in the washing machine. Smaller babies would probably enjoy the sound but it's a little on the heavy side, so perfect for older babies or even toddlers. This item was recommended for children up to three years of age, however my son is 2 1/2 years of age and showed little interest in the elephant. However, I still think it is a great toy. The elephant is soft, and made well. The mechanics that make the elephant vibrate and play music are hidden on the back and secured with a strong Velcro tape for safety. The songs are short and there is a good variety of sounds and songs to entertain a little ones (there are also two different volumes which comes in handy). Although my son did not appear eager to play with it, he did like the vibration. This toy would have been very beneficial for my son at a younger age especially the vibration which seemed to sooth him.
