First thing my child had a very hard opening the tree case, needed assistance. Once opened fun began, includes 8 forest animals ( fox,raccoon,owl,deer, squirrel,bear, frog, and rabbit.) All the animals are a nice size for little hands very sturdy hard plastic. Great for matching the animals to there tree &ldquo;home&rdquo;. Each space has a picture of the animal that fits there. We spent a lot of time talking about each one, so great learning experience. We also counted the animals. This play set has multiple ways to play and learn. Very cute fun looking case and bright easy to see pictures in each little cubby &ldquo;animal home&rdquo;. They love the different animals and love matching them with their homes inside the carrying case. The little people animals are however not made like all the others we have had. They are a harder plastic and not all one molded piece. Time will tell if they hold up as well (I prefer the softer rubbery little people that we have always had. Fisher Price Little People are some of our 2 year old grandsons favorite toys but this is not your typical Little People toy. Like other Little People toys, the Forest Friends is well made, colorful and the perfect size for toddlers. However this toy makes no sounds and has no action. The case looks like a tree and has places for 9 animals which are included. The inside of the case also has pictures of the animals. The front of the tree closes and makes it easy to take the animals anywhere. The latches that keep the &ldquo;tree&rdquo; closed are very secure and often difficult for little (and big) hands to open. One of the main activities of this toy would be matching the animals to their pictures inside the tree. We are also using this toy to teach animal names. My grandson often takes the animals to add to his other Little People toys. It's one small tab on the side, and the handle is also small and hard to tell its there. Since this is a toy for toddlers I feel like this should have been made a lot easier to open and close.
