We are big Linkimals fans in this house and the owl is no exception. There are so many fun activity buttons on this owl! Alphabet, numbers, music and more. And of course it links with the other animals and interacts with them which is our favorite part. The owl is great because there are so many ways to play with it from the buttons to being able to swing it back and forth and interacting with the other animals. The owl is a solid addition to the Linkimal lineup. The head rocks in a back and forth motion like the sloth, although it does not do it on its own like the sloth does. You have to tap it and it rocks until the momentum stops. It has a variety of songs and games, and the wings go in and out when pushed. The mouth lites up to look like the beak is moving when it talks and sings. My three year old liked it initially but lost interest quickly; however my one year old niece absolutely loves it and is enchanted watching it sing! My daughter is 3 and she was so excited to recieve the owl in the mail. It was bigger than I expected but perfect size for my 3 year old to carry around. The owl has 90+ phrases. My daughter's favorite song is the one about colors. She liked how the owls eyes light up that color as it sings. We were amused with the lighting that makes it look like the owls mouth and eyebrows are moving when it talks and sings. I and my older kids enjoyed learning about different facts about owls, found in the question mode and weather mode. I like that the owl teaches so many topics: ABCs, 1-20, feelings, weather, colors, months and days of the week, along with facts about owls. I wish that the 11-20 part wasn't so fast. Many kids struggle with 14-18 and there is only one song that goes to 20 and it starts off 11, 12 and then speeds up 1314, 151617, 181920 which is hard for a little to follow. I love that it goes to 20 however. The owl can be rocked back and forth (feet stay put) when you do that thw owl says more fun phrases includong a feelings check encouraging your child to use their words to describe their feelings. My kids and I really like all that this toy has to offer. We couldn't find our other linkamals so haven't seen how it interacta with other linkimals. I know for sure they sing the linkamals song together. It is a fun feature to have if you have other linkamals. Sturdy (has taken plenty of tumbles and is fine) and colorful and fun. I love that it talks about feelings and the calendar and weather, that is more unique but adds a good talking point with kiddos. It has a bunch of cute songs and sayings. The facts about owls is fun. It's an engaging toy. The words are clear and easy to understand. I feel like this one is more interactive with the other Linkimals too, which makes it more fun when they are all on and connected. (Though a little freaky if they go off in the night-the owl says &quot;I'm awake&quot; and all the other's giggle) I appreciate that it doesn't sing or talk to remind the kid that it's there but it does do a little &quot;blink blink&quot; sound, soft and cute and only does it a few times than it's silent. My older kiddo (9) is disappointed that the owl doesn't dance like the penguin does but my toddler doesn't notice or care. I do like that it has the slide movement though and that the sway, while will make it talk if off it doesn't interrupt any dialog that is in progress with a new song. I love the colored light eyes and think the way the lights mimic the talking beak is a neat touch. Perfect for my two year old son. He loves it. Good variety of sounds and songs. Light up eyes and mouth are entertaining and sync perfectly with the sounds. Build quality is superb. Sound quality is as well. Keeps my son entertained for hours. This toy should last a long time. I have been impressed with all of the linkimals thus far. My son has most of them and plays with them every day. The one and only thing I could say that would make this toy better is if it actually danced. The free swinging action adds to the fun, but my son seems to prefer the arm motion of the sloth. I like that it is a learning toy, my son enjoys singing along to the ABC&rsquo;s. He has pretty much all of the songs and phrases already memorized. Linkimals in general are just a brilliant idea, the way they automatically link up and interact adds to the enjoyment. My son likes to set them all up in a circle while he sings and plays along. Certainly one of the best toy categories Mattel sells (aside from hot wheels, of course). My son is 2.5 years old and would not interact with the toy for more than 5 minutes. He played each sound and then was over it. That said, a friend with a 15 month old played with the toy and absolutely loved it. I think it is an age range issue more than a toy issue and would therefore not recommend it for most kiddos over 2. As a parent, I liked the interaction that this product has. For example its eyes would light up to indicate blinking. I like that it states facts about an owl. This is a neat educational take, which could encourage the purchasing of other animals to learn their facts. I also like the idea of linking the products. I did not get to specifically try this but creating a connective toy is an exciting feature. The rest of the songs/sounds include the alphabet, numbers, days of the week, months, weather types, colors, emotions and more. The emotions is a neat feature to me since I have not seen that on a toy before and it is so important to teach little ones. Overall, I think this is a great toy but my son had no interest. This is likely due to his age and interests.
