We opened it and took all the pieces out. We love that it comes with two bullets since the first bullet usually gets lost. It shot the bullets out one at a time fast and easy. But the trigger to flap the wings jams every time we try to use that feature. And the top yellow piece that opens and shuts was very hard to open after closing shut. The two yellow parts under the yellow opening part already have paint peeled off, we noticed that as soon as we took it out of the box, it makes the toy look used. My son was getting very frustrated with the jammed trigger and frustrated that he kept having to ask me to open the yellow part for him. He'll probably only play with the action figure it came with from now on. The only part of this toy that wasn't disappointing was the batman figure. The batman figurine is cute and even has a cloth cape. The batwing is made of a hard plastic and comes with 2 darts that it shoots. It was a little confusing for my 4 (almost 5) year old son to figure out how to shoot the darts, instead of the handle with black trigger shooting the darts there is a separate red button on the bottom of the toy you have to press to shoot the darts. The black trigger moves the wings, but only slightly. The yellow piece that you have to open to sit batman inside of is hard for small hands to open. In general my son enjoyed playing with this toy (flying the batwing around the house), but I had to assist him with opening the yellow piece. Pros: The Imaginext DC Super Friends Batwing will provide hours of fun. Practice your projectile shooting and aim at the local park or on the couch! Play with Batman and the Batwing together or individually. Wings open and close, Batman as well as his Batwing projectiles all fit inside the yellow compartment for ease of travel (and helping Moms &amp; Dads keep track of those little blue flying parts). The bright colors, textured materials, great graphics and of course Batman ensured this great toy became an instant favorite in our household. Cons: When closed, the compartment that Batman is meant to sit inside is VERY tough for little 3-year-old fingers to open independently. Likewise, in the fully seated position Batman is hard to get into his compartment and still close the door (it takes a little practice to position him just right to close the door). The wings, although really neat for their opening/closing effect seem a bit flimsy and may not stay attached to the body of the Batwing with heavy play or a crash-landing. Projectile vs wing operation seems a bit backwards with regards to which buttons on the under-side of the Batwing perform which action. The &quot;trigger&quot; looking button opens the wings while the small red button (not as easy to locate while holding the Batwing naturally right side up, shoots the blue projectiles. This was confusing for both parent and child at first and took some getting used to. Overall Rating: 4 STARS!!! The Imaginext DC Super Friends Batwing, did NOT disappoint with regards to fun, action and becoming an instant favorite in the sea of toys competing for attention. My four year old with low muscle tone can easily use both buttons without any help and can load the missiles easily. Batman is easy to snap into the standing space provided on the top of the batwing and fits well into the compartment with enough room to store the extra missile. This is bound to get lost. The trigger that opens the wings is hard for my daughter to pull again to close the wings and the button for shooting the &quot;dart&quot; sits in a place that is hard for her little hands to manage while holding the toy. She did love this toy and it instantly started her imagination running but i think the Age range of 3-8 is low. 5-8 is probably more likely. I may be a bit biased because I love Batman, though. It looks awesome, and is sturdy enough that I'm confident in giving it to my 3 year old. He loves that it has torpedoes that can need shot out of it and that he can take Batman in and out. The trigger for the torpedoes is in an odd place, which is why we only give it 4 stars. The trigger that causes the wings to flap is in a better spot, but the way it is designed to stick into place is also lacking. My son already has some of the Batman playsets and vehicles and this is a fantastic addition. The bottom has a handle and trigger that activate the wings- pressing once will open them and make them stay open, press again to close. The wings can also be activated by the red platform dial similar to other Imaginext toys. There's a compartment on top for Batman to sit and the figure can store in there with the top closed- which is really nice! There's a also a small button on the bottom to activate the projectiles. I have a love/hate relationship with these. My son loves the &quot;shooters&quot; and said that was his favorite part of the toy but we always end up losing them quickly and the projectiles from one toy in the series don't necessarily fit into other toys. My almost 4 year old was excited to see this come out of the package and explore the features but it didn't hold his interest for a long time. But he did go back to it the next time we were playing Batman. There is a canopy that opens and the Batman figure can sit inside the cockpit while you fly the Batwing around. I love that this comes with 2 projectiles and a Batman figure. Also the fact that it doesnt need batteries is a big plus! This Batwing is so fun to fly around and once you see the bad guys you can help Batman fight them off. It may not matter to others but to my 5 year old who has been searching for this specific model for a long time, it was a crushing disappointment when it arrived. It is a batmobil but not the one in the picture. Toys r us say that it warns you styles may vary. However, the features vary too. The headlights don't light up, it only has one seat whereas the one advertised has two and it shoots the bullets from a different place and the roof doesn't lift up to form a missile launcher like the one in the photo. I would say the two products are extremely different.
