The controls are simple enough so they're not complicated and he was able to use it well. He barely could wait to get it out of the package. The toy itself is very durable, great value and has lots of fun features. He was impressed that it not only moved on a hard floor but also carpet. He keeps going back to play with it everyday. The remote is easy to use as he figured out how to use it right away. I was surprised at how fast it can go (it has an adjustable speed dial) and my son loves to chase after it while he&rsquo;s controlling it too. It drives smoothly on different surfaces from hardwood floors to whatever my son puts it on, like the couch too. So this is great play indoors and outdoors also. This little car moves fast for the beginner rc cars. The only downside was learning how to make it turn. The toy is easy to learn and figure out as a remote control car, and the buttons and sounds affects are enjoyable and not too loud or obnoxious. It is so cool. First off I as a parent love that the remote is simple to use and easy to understand buttons. The car responds well to the remote and its so fun making him drive around. It works well on low carpet and hardfloor. He has lights and phrases which keeps my kids engaged. One thing that I think is a special added touch is when the car is going backwards he says &quot;beep beep beep&quot; and my kids love to make him go backwards just to hear it over and over. My 8 year old son and six year old daughter ran it into everything they could and even used it as a way to play with the dog so the dog would hit it and pounce on it when it came close and it still works perfectly. It came with batteries so i didnt have to slend more to get it working when it arrived. Bam makes a number of sounds and says phrases that make the play more interactive and engage my son. He also loves how Bam's eyes and mouth light up - this is cool! My toddler likes to pop out Bam's wings -- he does wish the car could fly like he's seen on the show. The car is heavier compared to other race cars we have, however that is not an issue for play. The steering and control of the car is significantly easier and toddler friendly compared to other vehicles we have. My seven year old received this two days ago - it was an immediate hit, and he has returned to it numerous times already. Positives include that it was easy to remove from the packaging and requires minimal set up. The controls are straightforward and he loves the Batman tie-in, especially the contractable bat wings. The sound effects seemed a bit silly to me as a grown up (sounds like an adult going &ldquo;vroom vroom&rdquo;) - but my kid loves it and they&rsquo;re actually pretty endearing. There are a few things that really stand out about this rc vehicle. First off, the colors are vibrant and look great! The wings on the Batmobile are spring loaded and retractable which is a fun play feature. Also, controlling the vehicle itself is a simple task, making this a great rc vehicle for all ages. The lights and sounds create a fun effect as well while the vehicle is driving. The controller is an appropriate size and fits comfortably in the hand. The BAM turbo feature is fun and at both speeds, the vehicle never gets too fast which makes it easier to control.
