For granddaughter 10 months. Seem to remember the original phones had flexible handset lead? LO loves playing with phones and I remember having one as a child. The only issue I see is the short cord. If baby wants to put the receiver to ear the base dangles. My son loves the sound it makes when the wheels move. He likes to drive it like a car. The phone helps encourage imaginative play. The dial also helps with fine motor skills. The string was a bit annoying, so we easily removed it.
