We did not get a chance to view the video (late work last few weeks for both of us) so we played on the fly. We quickly went over the basic instructions then referred to them as we had questions. I&rsquo;m sure the video will help us a lot. We only had two of us available to play; I'm sure it will be even more exciting with more players. We did have fun with it even though we went in pretty much blind. The Armageddon play was a fun addition to the game. I think this will be a great addition to the game night we are currently setting up at the library. The decision to give the Godcat and Devilcat a differently designed card back at first seemed puzzling because it made it easier for other players to ****** the Godcat once it was in a player&rsquo;s hand, but as we played, we came to appreciate that decision as another level of strategy. With both two players and multiplayers, the game seemed to last a bit longer than the standard version of Exploding Kittens, which doesn&rsquo;t detract from the fun but only adds to it! We all enjoy that game, but in the words of one of the players, it was time for a refresh. So, we had a chance to play this a few times this week (4 of us aged between 16 and 57), and given that we already knew how to play the original, this was an easy game to take up. However, one of our group pointed out that the sheet of rules for this game, as in the original, are put together remarkably well, very clear and easy to understand, answering all the questions that are likely to arise.The big addition in this game, apart from different cats and other artwork on the cards, is the addition of the *** cat and devil cat cards, allowing an &quot;armageddon&quot; play. This acts as a kind of wildcard, and as such is intensely desirable, but winning it involves a degree of luck, as you have to play a game of bluff with one other player to win the card. That card is super overpowered as it can be played as anything except a Nope. With this addition, we found games can be played faster, but it also affects your strategies. Firstly, the *** cat card has different back art, so if you can claim another player's card, you know which one it is. This can make players too focused on getting that card at the expense of other strategies. After playing it, we all agreed that it was a good refresh of the original. The end game in the original can sometimes take a long time, and having this extra card seems to hurry that along a bit. We did not experience an unexpected turn in fortunes - the winners ended up winning with hugely overpowered hands with multiple defuses, but that may have been the luck of the draw. After talking it through we all agreed that this was a 4-5 star game. I would have probably given 4.5 stars, but that's not an option here so we rounded up. Did my opponent put the Devilcat infront of me or is it in front of them? Did he expect me to expect he'd put it in front of me and want me to switch with him? Or, by doing so, am I dooming myself to an explosion! Ah! The choices! He says the wording should be stronger, do or don't instead. While the box states 2-5 players, we found 4 being the best. This way there is enough of a deck that the game is not over before at least some chaos (and an Armageddon or two) can be found but the game still goes quickly enough that several games can be played in a reasonable time.
