Although I do enjoy the short/wider shape of most infant bottles, I appreciate the fact that I feel more confident that the glass bottles are being cleaned properly. My boy never had issues with the originals or with colic so I can not honestly comment on that. It would bee nice to have an option for a silicon sleeve in case dropped though. I would buy these over the.classics. This one is unique, the twist makes it easier to hold &amp; wash. Having a one piece vent is a major time &amp; space saver. I found the cap to be subpar, a little loose for my taste but this is not a huge issue for me because I primarily use my glass bottles at home. I do prefer to have silicone sleeves. Overall, a good bottle for a great price. They vent as promised but do not have any additional parts which makes them easy to clean. The shape and size of the bottle makes it easy for my child to hold. I think it would be better if the the plastic part that holds nipple was little bigger around and not flush with the cap. It makes it difficult to remove cap from the nipple part if that part is removed from the bottle. You have to remember to remove the cap first and then remove the nipple part. We have other glass bottles and they are clunky and heavy, but this one has an ergonomic shape and lightweight feel. It doesn't seem much heavier than a plastic bottle. The venting system built into the nipple is convenient - no having to wash and assemble multiple parts. However, the nipple seems to flow too fast for our baby - he sputtered a lot while drinking. We ended up using these bottles with the venting system and nipple from another brand and it worked great. The cleaning was the worst and then I'd only hand wash just to be certain no plastic elements were leaching is to my other dishes in the dishwasher. Finding the matching parts to secure the different kinds of nipples and bottles wasnt very fun either. They ended up being throw-always since i didn't want them for the next child. It didnt seem hygienic either. I didn't actually think about glass until my friend started using the more popular glass nursers. Then I got the opportunity to review these Evenflo nursers and I'm surprised at the quality of the bottles versus other popular brands in the market I've looked at. The glass is sturdy and I love the fact there aren't extra pieces to the nipple. Best of all, I can place in my dishwasher with my other glassware---convenience factor for me. The weight of these bottles are notably different from a plastic bottle but didn't take long to get used to - it may be a little longer before my little girl can hold the bottle herself but I'm happy to do it for now :) These bottles also feel much sturdier than I expected. I haven't yet dropped one - and decided against doing it just to see what would happen - but I don't expect them to break easily which is reassuring. I like that the 4oz set comes with the slowest flow nipples and I my breastfed baby seems to be OK with this flow. He took to the Evenflo much easier than the other bottles we have. It's an easy size to grip and because the vent is built into the nipple there are only a few pieces to wash. It's trim size fits nicely in your hand, especially when holding a tiny baby. Bonus it fits into my Medela Brest pump too! I love that they are glass and silicone which are easy to sanitize. They are narrow and not all bottle brushes fit when cleaning. The first time I gave him this bottle he drank about 2 oz!!! I love that they are easy to clean. The nipple design is great. The size and weight are perfect for my little one since he's not drinking a lot yet. They are slightly heavier then plastic so little babies just learning to hold their own bottles may have a slightly harder time. I was worried about my rambunctious boy breaking the glass but so far he has thrown the bottle out of his crib and dropped it accidentally out of the car onto cement and they haven't broken. A lot of moms are very conscious of the materials they're using to feed their babies now more than ever before. My husband and I always find value in items that are glass and/or silicone. When washing and dissembling these are very easy to take a part and put together properly which is another plus. I have only one con, which is the nipple shape. For someone thats breastfeeding or doing a mix of bottle/breast its nice to have a nipple that more closely resembles a breast. Over the years I've bought 12 8oz and six 4oz and have only broke two. I did receive three 4oz bottles free and they work perfectly. One thing i wasn't impressed with was the size of the nipple and bottle opening. The small mouth of the bottle makes it difficult to pour the formula into the bottle, especially for nighttime feeding when you can barely see anything). Also, my son's mouth covers the entire nipple and he got frustrated with it, because it was a little small for him. The bottle is pretty durable. I dropped it a couple of times just to test it and it didnt break (thank goodness) even though it's made of glass. They take some time getting use to if your only prior experience is with plastic bottles. Glass bottles in general heat up quicker and these bottles are no exception. I find this can be a plus when you have a hungry baby calling. When screwing the nipple on to the bottle it needs to be tight enough not to leak but loose enough to allow airflow and prevent nipple collapse. If the nipple is screwed on to tight baby will not be able to draw milk/formula from the bottle. I found they also clean up nicely too. No frosty film left behind after multiple uses. As with any bottle, nipple flow preference is dependent on baby. If your baby is having trouble I found changing out the nipple flow makes all the deference. The micro air vents are a huge plus. It's a two pieces system vs its competitors. Big,big,big plus! The bottles are heavier than plastic. But I didn't find the weight of the bottles to be heavier/ lighter than their competitors. All in all I really enjoyed using this product once I got over the learning curve;). After debating if I wanted to try glass bottles, I was so happy that I was getting to finally try them. The glass felt of great quality, it had some weight to it. When I finally got to use them I definitely noticed my son has had a little bit less gas than he normally has. Glass also doesn't retain smell the way plastic does and it cleans much better. They seem very hardy and are so easy to clean. The vent on the nipple makes it so you have to tilt it a little to be able to tighten the cap properly but that's not a big deal once you realize you have to do it. I am however disappointed that they don't come with a disc to cap the bottle closed.
