But once she got it out of the package she loved it. She kept pointing out that the dolls fins (legs) could be maneuvered until the rigid plastic she’s used to this was a different material that she could move around. She loved the colors of the doll and enjoyed the accessories. I enjoy that there weren’t a ton of accessories to go missing and end up in my toddlers mouth or my foot at night while cleaning.</span>

At first I was reluctant to let my daughter being her into the tub because experience says Barbie's hair gets gross after getting wet. However, it's what she's made for, so I had to let it happen! My daughter LOVED seeing her color-change, and helping her learn to swim in the tub. The mermaid gets her washed while I wash my daughter's hair, and it makes the process less objectionable because she isn't focused on the fear of getting soap on her eyes; just wants to get back to playing. Ariel makes bath time longer, but so much more fun!</span>

You squeeze her hips and her knees bend, the fluidity of that movement combined with the fabric tail really make it a realistic motion. The doll's hair stayed curly and flowy in the water and dried still curly. The bottom tail fin is actually a fabric, so flows well in the water, adding to the enchantment of it all. The accessories stayed on throughout rigorous play, even the necklace. The little seahorse is very cute and every Ariel needs a dinglehopper, so I'm glad that was included! Features are age-appropriate and sweet. The tail did change colors a bit as well. Overall, a definite step up for inspiring mermaid play.</span>
