Many of the features of the belt rely on imaginative play rather than actual functioning gagets. The one exception is the front of the belt that flips open when the crystal is inserted into the belt. My child still has fun operating that aspect of the belt. I wish the other parts that came with the belt also had interactive elements.</span>

Our 6 year old loves it and is able to put it on themselves with little to no help from me. It's also adjustable, which is a plus since our 6 year old is on the smaller side. The fuel crystal pops into the belt, which then releases the secret compartment and a hidden switch. The communicator is removable and the crystal can be stored in the handy pouch attached to the belt so it doesn't get lost. Only giving it 4 stars because we wish there were more sounds or phrases, that way it felt more realistic or interactive. Otherwise great quality, sturdy, and lots of fun! Our child has already asked for us to buy more of the Lightyear accessories!</span>

The only complaint my son had was when he put the crystal thing into the storage case attached to the belt, it’s extremely difficult to get out. Not sure if that’s what is supposed to go in there but of course he’s going to try to put it in there since there’s nothing else that comes with it to keep inside that little holster.
