I switch off between cloth and disposable diapers and it works great for both. I started using disposable diapers the first month of my baby's life and bought this pail because it advertised being good for both. I was irritated with the continuous bags (like diaper genie) and how quickly the included bag ran out. Once it ran out, I ordered the Dekor cloth inserts because I was ready to start cloth diapering. First: The pail has an easy open pedal for the lid, but there is no help for the door that you have to use for putting the liner in. I have to ask my husband to hold the top up so I could weasel the liner around the bouncy ring inside. Second: You cannot fill the pail to max capacity with the pail door insert installed. You put your hand into a trap door and must maintain clearance for the door to open and close. Half the time my hand would get caught in the door when I try to pull my hand back out after smooshing diapers down to make room. Third: The pail empties from the bottom. Which is okay I guess. But the cloth insert has a draw string that does not pull tight after the first washing. (I am not sure why other than friction on the string and the waterproof material, I guess.) So, Imagine 15 cloth diapers and inserts- stinky from poop, urine and the combo has made ammonia smell as well. Having to pull the bag from the bottom of the plastic pail without it shut means there is now a spill trail of dirty diapers. Why did they think this would work? I happen to also have a Charlie Banana hanging wet bag in the hallway. It's open at the top and is SOOOO much more convenient. It holds the smell (I don't dunk or spray diapers yet) and has caused no spilled diapers or issues. It also keeps the smell in. With he wet bag I had to keep it in the bathroom even when zipped up because I I could smell the diapers. I have 2 kids in cloth so my only issue is that it fills up quickly. Other than that it is easy to use and perfect for storing the dirty diapers. It is so easy to use and really does block the odors from stinky diapers. The bags hold a ton of diapers and changing the bag is simple as well. We started with the bag insert that was included with the pail and bought one box of refill liners. Our daughter is almost 8 months old and we've only used one of the refill liners. We recently relocated to Columbus and bought the grey one. I really like the lever you step on to open the lid so you can easily toss a diaper with baby in tow, we haven't had to use the locking feature yet but am sure it will come in handy as our girl begins to walk. I would say that my one (and it's a small one) complaint is the locking latch on the side that keeps the pail closed needs a little extra attention to get it to latch tightly. It's not a deal breaker it just takes an extra couple seconds to make sure it's closed properly.
