My grandson is almost eight and enjoyed unboxing then contents. He played with it for many hours and enjoyed it a lot. I of course had play with him. My son is 4 and were a marvel family. This set is pretty durable, its still looks like new after a couple days of rough preschooler play. The cards and reader thing seem pointless, the mask is cool and the kid just attached the light and ran around. Both of my kids have been playing with it everyday since I received this. My son loves the magnifying glass features and finding clues in the cards with it. My younger one loves to pose in the gear. Nonetheless, it was a fun game and got him excited about being in character and solving something (even if that part only lasted about 5 minutes). The Batman mask was a huge hit! Once we unboxed this toy the kids were excited to see mystery cards and detective red light lamps. There is a belt with carrying case that they were happy to put on. Then we started looking at the cards to figure out who was the bad guys we put the two different attachments on, one that magnifies and the other that illuminates. Needless to say this toy was a success with my children! I would buy this for any child in their age group who has a love of mystery and being a detective.
