It covers all areas of concern for parents. It can be used for infants 4lbs all the way to kids that are 120lbs! It is a very nice seat with soft material. It looks and fits great in my compact suv. Installation was pretty easy just followed the instructions. There will be no more babies getting left in hot vehicles thanks to the Sensor Safe feature. The head rest tilts back for an open airway for babies. It is mind blowing all the thought and safety that was put into this car seat! We travel long distances a lot and thanks to this seat I can travel with peace of mind that by baby is safe and sound. All in all this is a top notch car seat with features out the wazoo. It is worth every penny you spend on it! We have installed it rear facing with the shoulder/lap belt and feel that he is really secure. There is plenty of space for the front passenger seat even with the rear-facing recline position, though if he were reclined more it might become an issue. The material of the seat has a nice feel to it and the shoulder strap covers are thin, but very comfortable. The cover is machine washable, but I&rsquo;ll admit that I won&rsquo;t be too excited if we have to disassemble &amp; reassemble everything if we have a reason to clean it. We have a Cybex infant seat and had to machine wash the cover once and I could never get it fitting tight around the edges again, so I fear that might be the case with this one, too! Again, I hope I never have to find out but with a toddler it is probably inevitable! Let's hope it's as easy as the manual makes it seem! We haven't made any road trips with it yet, but my son has found it cozy enough to take short naps on car rides home in it. I like that it sits lower in the car (our previous seat sat way up high), so it's easy to get him in and out without worrying about hitting his head on the ceiling of the car. There are so many safety features to this car seat that I am 100% certain my son is safe while in the car. The side impact panel is a great feature for side impact crashes, and the SensorSafe technology is great, too! Installing the SensorSafe sensor was a breeze because the app will tell you exactly where it goes in the make/model/year of your car if you are like me and had no idea where it goes. I admit that I have not done much with the app thus far, but I do love that it allows you to add other adults to your account and it will alert them if it feels there is an unsafe environment/situation. It will tell you if the car is on, the child is clipped in and what the temperature in the car is. I will spend more time soon seeing what else the app offers, but so far the interface is really easy to navigate! The feature that I love most is when the Sensor chimes when the car is stopped/turned off, the driver door is opened and the child is still buckled in. It's not an annoying sound, but it's a great reminder of your child in the backseat. If the chest clip is not strapped, you won't hear the chimes when you get in and out of the car. The chest clip is definitely a little tougher to get opened and closed because the button on it is stiffer (likely due to the SensorSafe technology), but if you have an older toddler that likes to unbuckle during rides, they likely won't be able to anymore! When I first received it I had a hard time locating the anchors for foreword facing, but was able to find them with the help of the manual. I love how the head part can recline for when my son falls asleep his head isn&rsquo;t falling foreword! The advance technology is amazing your able to download an app and it tells you when the chest clip is connected and the temperature in your car. It is SUCH a versatile seat given the longevity it provides. I mean, the ability to rear face until our baby is 50 lbs?! That's amazing! The other feature we were thrilled with was the SensorSafe technology. It is SUPER easy to install in your vehicle and monitor with your smart device. Straight out of the box the Eternis S is a thing of beauty. We were highly impressed by the build construction and quality. The fabrics are incredibly soft and the color is very sleek. The seat is HEAVY but that is to be expected with the steel reinforced frame. I LOVE the removable cup holder and how easily it attaches to the seat. The three position movable recline on the headrest is a feature that I've never seen on a carseat before (and we have five kids...so a lot of carseats over the years!). It is super easy to adjust and such a cool added bonus. Another neat feature is the magnetic strap holders....so handy when you are getting your child in the seat and you don't want to be fumbling around with the straps. Adjusting the straps with the no re-thread harness was a total breeze. Everything is labeled very clearly to eliminate any confusion. The straps fit nicely across our daughter's legs, they do not dig in or seem uncomfortable at all. The L.S.P (Linear Side-Impact Protection) pops in and out with the click of a button, we love this added safety feature. A few (minor) things to note: when clipping and unclipping the chest clip it took a little more wiggling than I am used to, however my five year old was still able to get herself out of the seat when instructed to do so. The SensorSafe is in the chest clip so I imagine that is why it required a little more work. Installing in our 2016 Honda Odyssey was pretty straightforward, however, it did take a few tries to get the seat tight (with the LATCH system). The manual was easy to navigate with helpful instructions and I imagine it will get easier over time. Releasing the LATCH was super easy with the quick release pull tabs. Overall we are extremely pleased with this carseat. We rate it five stars based on the longevity, quality, and safety features. The seat is equipped with linear side impact protection and I feel my child is very safe if there were ever an accident. I absolutely love the scensor safe alert system that I can control using an app on my phone. This way I know if she has taken off her belt or if she has not and has been potentially left in the car. The only con, is sometimes it tells me he&rsquo;s still in the car when I already unbuckled him and he&rsquo;s safely with me. The alert to let you know the baby is in the car with you is pretty loud. I have only tried the Eternis S in my vehicle (Toyota Prius V) for my baby (almost 11 months ~18 lbs. and 27&quot; tall). I installed the car seat in our car in the most upright position allowed for rear facing, using the leveling indicator ball, this is the only rear facing position that will allow an adult to ride in the front passenger seat (the car seat takes up this same amount of space all the way to the top harness position). She needs the Eternis headrest high enough that I was able to tilt it back a notch (only headrest positions 4 and higher allow you to tilt the headrest back) which was very nice, she fell asleep and her head did not slump at all. I installed the Sensorsafe app on my iPhone to try it out. It works well and the setup instructions within the app were easy to follow. I highly recommend the using the seat belt to install this car seat, it was much easier for me to get a tight install with the seat belt than with LATCH. I installed the car seat in my car with the seat belt both rear and forward facing. I was able to get a solid install by just feeding the seat belt through the generously sized belt paths (no scratched hands!), feeding the shoulder belt through the the lock off, and pulling the seat belt with just my hands. I did not have to put my weight in the car seat to get it tight. I installed the car seat in my car with LATCH both rear and forward facing. The LATCH strap is stored inside a compartment under the seat cover, it is a little bit of a pain to get it out, feed it through the belt path, and replace the seat cover. I really like the pull strap release on the LATCH buckle, it is easier than the push button style. I was able to get tight rear and forward facing installs, but I had to put one knee in the seat and pull the LATCH strap as hard as possible while rocking the seat side to side to get it tight. According to the user manual you must discontinue using LATCH rear facing when baby weighs 35 lbs. and forward facing at 40 lbs. With the infant insert installed, the shoulder straps are 6 &frac12;&quot; high in the lowest setting and the crotch strap in the inner position is 3&quot; from the seat back. With the infant insert removed, the shoulder straps are 17 &frac12;&quot; high in the highest setting and the crotch strap in the outer position is 5 &frac34;&quot; from the seat back. Pros: -Looks like it will work well for a small newborn (deep recline, head rest tilts back automatically in the smaller harness settings, smallest harness setting looks small enough) -Optional tilt back headrest for the higher harness settings -High rear facing capacity, 4-50 lbs. and 17&quot;-48&quot; -High forward facing harnessed capacity, 22-65 lbs. and 28&quot;-49&quot; -Booster mode, 40-120 lbs. and 44&quot;-57&quot; -The harness does not have to be removed for booster mode (less likely to lose the parts) -LATCH, including top tether, can be used to secure the car seat in the vehicle in booster mode -Seems well cushioned and comfortable for babies and toddlers -Large belt paths that don't scratch your hand when feeding the seatbelt through -10 year expiration date -Retractable L.S.P. only takes up extra width in your car when extended for use -LATCH strap pull release mechanism is easy to use -Clear, easy to follow user manual and stickers on the car seat Cons: -Very large seat - 19 &frac12;&quot; wide and takes up a lot of room rear facing front to back if reclined for a small baby, you would need a very large vehicle to be able to recline it deeply enough for a newborn -Difficult to get a tight LATCH installation -The seat bottom is very well padded except for the 3&quot; near the seat back which is about half as padded as the rest of of the seat bottom, it seems like this would be uncomfortable for a potty trained child -The chest clip is stiff to buckle and unbuckle, this may get better with use -The headrest is difficult to adjust into the lower harness positions (positions 1-2), I was afraid I was going to break it while pushing it down, this may get easier with use I recommend this car seat, I will still use an infant car seat, Cybex Aton Q, for my next newborn (due in June) because we will not be able to recline the Eternis S enough in our car, but I think this will be an excellent car seat once the baby has enough head control to sit in the most upright rear facing position through to the booster years. She&rsquo;d grown out of her Evenflo Safemax car seat and so we were looking for a booster seat that would carry her all the way until she didn&rsquo;t need one anymore. It&rsquo;s incredibly comfy and very easy to install (we did the tether and the seatbelt through the back). All in all installation took 5 minutes which helps when you have two kids! The cup holder just slotted into place as well. I love Cybex products for their quality and ease of use and this seat is no exception. The sensor safe is a nice option too which allows us to understand when the kids need a break during a road trip.
