After about 7 months, it started making a really loud noise. I thought it was a defect, so I bought another one. It did the same thing, this time after only 4 months. These do not provide very much humidity for the room, they are not worth the money, and they breakdown quickly. Filled it up, turned it on and wow no mist coming out, it sounds the same on low as it does on high when the dial is cranked up.Returning it and looking for a different brand. Yes, if you run it on high then it makes things around it wet/moist (it's a humidifier afterall!!). Love it! Love it! I had a Visk one before and I hate it, it was noisy and was not working at all. But this one is AMAZING! It's so quiet !!! For those who mentionned that everything around get wet, well this shows how this humidifier works! I love it! I am from Montreal were is really humid, so maybe this humidifier would not be the best one or you may need to run it on really Low, but I now live in Calgary were is really dry and this is the best thing I could ever buy. I have been using this humiditer on HIGH since over a week now, and WOW I can see a huge difference. My nose used to always be stuffy and Dry, but now I can finally sleep good at night. I am currently recovering from a Sinus Infection and bough this humidifier to help as I could not sleep. The tank of water is easy to carry around and it will last you a Full day on high intensity. Things around it may get a little moist, so to be on the safe side just don't put it next to electronic, but I have it on my night table and my furniture DO NOT get water on top.
