The lights on the top flash, but they are not buttons. If you push JJ the bus will sing 2 different songs. The wheels on the bus is not the whole song so it doesn't go on and on (I am very thankful for that!) The sliding g bar on the side determines the mode you are in such as letter, sounds etc. So depending on the mode if you push a letter it will either give you the letter, sound or a word that starts with that letter. Overall this is a great educational toy that doesn't make a obnoxious sounds that make you want to take out the batteries.</span>

My biggest disappointment though is that the wheels don’t actually turn. So the bus is stationary as opposed to a useable bus. Seems like that would be a simple addition. Toddlers and younger kids can easily carry it around since it has a handle. Unfortunately, the shapes do not come out and the wheels do not spin. It does however sing when you press the JJ button, and when you press the numbers/letters, the door is also able to be opened and closed.
Two songs are played, which are the wheels on the bus and ABC song.
The selector switch lets you choose between letters, sounds, words, and numbers. The shapes do not come out, however they do light up when JJ is singing. My three year old seems to like it, but still doesn't understand why it won't roll, and why he can't take the shapes out.</span>
