It came in about 6-7 small bags inside the rock/egg container that it came in. Neither of my kids could easily open the bags so it took a little while to get all the pieces out. Once everything was out of the bags and put together my kids played with it for maybe a minute or two so it really did not hold their attention at all after the excitement of opening it and putting it together was over. I really liked that there were enough &quot;surprises&quot; inside to keep the kids interested, without there being a gratuitous amount of little pieces that will just end up lost or in the garbage. My kids are really into crystals so the packaging was great to begin with. The added touch of fossils was great too. Our surprise came with kinetic sand inside, and the kids have been having fun playing with the little &quot;pet&quot; in the sand, and seeing it's footprints in the sand. The outside packaging is colorful and attractive. The kids (ages 9 and 5) were really excited to open it up and discover the contents. Ours included a cute, blue dino baby with a detachable tuft of hair, a small glow-in-the-dark charm, and a small bag of green slime. We were unfamiliar with the Cave Club and while the kids both think the little dinosaur is really cute, it was not very meaningful or relevant. In the past couple days, I've seen the 5 year old pick up the creature and play with it for a couple minutes; then he moves on to something else. As I'm writing this review, I wanted to take a photo of it, but I can't find it. I'm sure it will turn up again soon. Meanwhile the slime was opened and abandoned that first day. Slime has come and gone in our household and doesn't hold the excitement it did a year ago. I think if we knew the characters and the Cave Club show this product would have been better received. These are cute enough without the blind box gimmick...duplicates are a waste of money. I would rather just be able to purchase whole set. Disappointing. The 4th blind bag contained pink glittery slime, which was honestly a mess &amp; then thrown out, fun for kid not necessarily for Mom. The cave and blind bags are very exciting but after playing with initially was then forgotten about. Toy piece is quite small and not something I would trust a young child with. The Cave Club dino baby crystals,with surprises and slimewhich is my childs favorite item to get everytime i enter a store with her. This toy was perfect for her age group being she is 8 years old and not into the smaller kids toys now. She loves surprises and it had alot that came with it. She was very happy with it and looks foward to more soon we hope. Would love to review more products because mattel is a very good company and makes products that last years. Ive chosen their toys over maby other brands.
