The quality of the house is made of a nice hard plastic, which is really nice and can hold up to two smaller children playing with it. It's also not super big and heavy so it is easy for your littles to be able to pick up and move around. The detail in the house and on the outside of the house is really nice to. My girls like that the house came with a little critter along with a table and chairs, a fireplace, and a swing. Which can all be moved around to use in the inside of the house along with the outside of the house. Just be aware that the set comes with only ONE figurine so if you want your children not to fight over the little Labrador, you will want to purchase an additional package of critters! It comes with some cute furniture, all made out of hard plastic, so very durable. It definitely promotes imagination as my children make up different scenarios. My granddaughters are 4 and 5 and love all the calico critters. They spend hours playing with them just lost in there imaginations. These toys are excellent for boys and girls. It is easy to move the Critters around inside and position them as you please. With multiple spots to hang the hammock and rope ladder this allows her to play how she wishes. The funnest part of this lodge however I would have to say is the built in slide in the roof . Overall, the durability of this lodge is great. I felt the exterior could use a little more attention to detail.
