We were in need of a booster as my child will be transitioning to that in the next few months. This seat seems very bulky and large as a high back booster and I was hoping to be able to fit this into the third row of my Jeep but it really doesn&rsquo;t leave any wiggle room for my child. Also, if you were wanting to use this primarily as a car seat, it&rsquo;s not as plush or comfy as other Britax car seats. There is little padding on the back and the fabrics slouch down. The car seat straps are supposed to tuck behind the side wings but they constantly come out which isn&rsquo;t safe and it&rsquo;s a pain to deal with. The installation is supposed to be easy but it really wasn&rsquo;t and I had to reference manual several times. I liked the cup holders, perfect placement. Overall, I feel like this seat just missed the mark and I would probably go with a designated booster that has more comfort to it. This isn&rsquo;t it. She was ahead of the schedule we imagined, and so we scrambled to do some car seat shuffling in order to keep both children safe and comfortable in the car. I thought I was going to have months to research the best convertible booster for my 5yo, but the days were ticking by and the baby was getting bigger and bigger. Then the Stellar Product Testing Panel sent us the Britax Grow With You ClickTight Plus Harness-to-Booster Car Seat to review and it came at the PERFECT time. First of all, this seat is gorgeous and stately. It seemed enormous in the box, but once it was installed in my SUV, it looks like it belongs there. My son said &ldquo;Ooooh!&rdquo; when he climbed into it for the first time. Once he was seated, adjusting the height of the harness took seconds. He has plenty of room to stretch out and get comfortable while being securely fastened in the 5-point harness. He&rsquo;s fallen asleep in it a few times on longer car trips and the headrest sides sit at the perfect angle to keep his head upright instead of slumping forward. Installation with the ClickTight was a bit counterintuitive if you&rsquo;re used to installing other seats with a seatbelt and needing to tighten them all the way. That is mostly because my brain refused to believe I didn&rsquo;t have to tighten the seatbelt before closing the mechanism over it. The instructions did say tightening it too much would prevent the ClickTight from closing properly, but the brain thinks what the brain thinks. Once I let go of my notions it was extremely simple. I will say that once installed the seat does not budge. I am thrilled with how secure it feels, and I wish all seats had the same functionality, it&rsquo;s definitely my favorite way now. My son&rsquo;s favorite feature is all the room for snacks and toys. He always has a small toy in hand when riding in the car, and the cup holders and snack pockets are perfect for stashing them when it&rsquo;s time to get out (in addition to actual cups and snacks, of course). The fabric is so smooth and soft, too. I removed and replaced the seat covers before installing and it was *so* much easier than any of our other car seats. They&rsquo;ve done some serious research and engineering there and it shows. My favorite feature of this seat is the clicktight for easy installation. I couldn&rsquo;t believe just how easy it was to install! Adjusting the seat to fit my child was also very easy. Overall, I believe this seat is very user friendly but also has really great safety features, which is obviously most important to me in keeping my child safe. I have not yet had to remove and wash the cover, but the fact that the fabric is washable is such an added bonus! This car seat is solid; it is very heavy, heavier than any other car seat I've used. The installation of this car seat was very easy and the instructions were pretty clear, it took about 15 minutes to install. The only thing that was difficult about the install was that the latch system clips were in a hidden compartment and I couldn't locate them for a few minutes and the instructions didn't mention where to find them. This car seat uses the latch system and also has a tether to attach to the back of the car's seat. When installed correctly, the car seat has very little wiggle room, less than any other car seat I've used which gives me peace of mind. My daughter was so excited for her new car seat and wanted try it out as soon as I installed it, even though we had no where to go. She was perfectly comfortable in the seat for the few minutes I put her in it that night and then for an hours drive the next day, she even fell asleep in it. It was very simple to adjust the back of the seat for the perfect fit, just squeeze a little lever and lift up on the back of the seat to find the correct height. There was no re-threading needed for the straps, they moved automatically with the back of the car seat. One of the difficult things about the fit adjustment is the straps, you have to pull extremely hard to tighten the straps enough, this is the main reason I dropped the review to 4 stars. The cup holders are in a perfect position for her to reach them. The fabric is easy to remove, it uses a loop and hook system to secure the car seat fabric. All in all, I would recommend this car seat to any one. It's solid, easy to install, and comfortable for my daughter. We had a bbq sauce incident and I thought it was going to stain so bad, but to my surprise, the covers came off easily and washed perfectly and were easy to put back on. My favorite feature has to be the cup holders. We can fit my 5 year olds cup and even her snack containers in the holders. They are a little tight but so far no spills. Until I received this car seat (thanks Stellar Product Testing Panel!) she was still using her convertible car seat. From the moment I pulled this one out of the box, we were both impressed. The colors are beautiful! I appreciated the ombre and how bright the seat was. She loved how pretty it was. The fabric itself is also nice to the touch, it has a bit of texture and is comfortable. It seems as though it will be not only durable, but also handle stains well. Although if it does get a mess on it, it's no big deal sicne its machine washable! It is the ultimate convenience with little ones. Even though she is 5, messes are right up her alley (we don't need to discuss the rotten apple I found in the convertible car seat I pulled out to upgrade her to this one). Although this car seat is relatively wide, it wasn't any wider than the bulky convertible car seat. It fits well in my minivan, although if you need to fit 3 car seats across, this isn't the best one for you. However, for me, I love the extra layer of side impact protection! Safety is my top priority with my kiddos (hence my 5 year old still being in a forwars facing harness and my nearly 3 year old still being rear facing) so I truly appreciate every bit of safety and protection this seat provides. It is the perfect blend of safety, aesthetic, convenience, and comfort. I only have one con, but it was a frustrating one. The installation of this seat took me over a half hour! It was beyond frustrating trying to get the seat belt through the guided path and stay untangled and flat. I even broke down and watched the installation video (super helpful) but even in that I have no clue how they kept the seatbelt flat so well! The area where the belt goes along the sides of the seat really should have a slat where the seat belt sits, rather than a curved ledge. It made it unnecessarily difficult and frustrating. It's like I have to pull to tighten with more strength than I have! That's really my biggest complaint, and the reason for the 3 star review. My husband had a difficult time getting it installed also, but the set up is a bit different than we're used to. Otherwise - it's a quality seat, a tad bit heavy, but it's comfortable for my son, the colors are nice also. It feels very safe, which is the top priority for me. We are just used to using a different brand we've been using for 5+ years now. My very first impression of the Britax Grow With You ClickTight Plus Harness-to-Booster Car Seat was that it was great looking but man is it heavy! That is definitely something to consider if you have to move your car seat a lot; we don&rsquo;t, so the weight actually makes it feel more sturdy and safe. I was waiting for it to be above sub-zero temps to install this new car seat which didn&rsquo;t happen (freezing here in North Dakota winter), so I was extra thankful for the ease of installation. It was very quick, and I appreciated that they had helpful guides printed on the actual seat to help. The only issue I had was having a bit too much slack, but once you close the seat, it actually was really tight. The removable cover and fabrics are pretty easy to remove and wash. The only part I had difficult with was putting back the padding that surrounds the bottom buckle - I might have broken a nail or two trying to get that back on. Another small detail I really liked was they have this cord that attaches both of the belt covers that go by the child&rsquo;s neck, which mean they stay in place and you don&rsquo;t have to adjust them every time you buckle in your child. The seat seems really safe and sturdy. They have these air bag type pads on each side of the seat facing out, that if you press on you can hear air coming out. This seems like it would be safer since it contracts on impact so I wouldn&rsquo;t be worried about it being a plastic piece that could break. It also has a steel frame. Overall, I am very impressed with this seat. I love the look of this seat and how easy it was to install. There are stickers on the side that are easy to follow with instructions on how to place the seat in your car. These are helpful when you don&rsquo;t have the instruction manual right there with you. The low profile made it easy for my child to get in the seat himself. He tells me he loves the arm rests, how comfy it is and the cup holder for all of his things. I like that the cup holders are built in and not a separate attachment. The fabric is easy to clean and would be easy to remove if really messy. The seat is a little on the heavy side. It will mostly be in my car but if I have to switch it to the grandparents car, it is a challenge. The other piece that is a little difficult is where the adjuster to tighten the seat is. It is pretty far back and I&rsquo;m not able to loosen with just my thumb like other seats. One suggestion would be if there is a pocket on the back of the seat to keep the instruction manual. It&rsquo;s a beautiful grey color with high quality fabric and a removable and washable cover which is amazing! Kids grow so fast and the ability to easily adjust the headrest height as well as adjusting the harness are a couple of my favorite features of this car seat. The car seat was incredibly easy to install in my minivan. The manual is very clear and helpful. I first installed it using the Click Tight installation system by lifting the panel and threading the seatbelt through. My son is in kindergarten and Mr. Independent so we then opted to use this as a high back booster seat rather than harness mode since he falls in the range that he could use either mode. I was able to tuck the buckle underneath his seat cushion and just roll up the harness on each side and tuck away behind the side cushion covers. If we decide to replace the harness or use it for a younger cousin it will be easy to convert back to harness mode. I love that! To install in the vehicle as a booster, I just made sure the back tether strap was clipped securely into the connector hook on the back of the seat and tightened down using the adjuster. Then I used the vehicles seat belt to strap my son into his seat. A few of my son&rsquo;s favorite features of his new car seat include the large dual built in cup holders on each side. They are sturdy and built in without fear of snapping off as we&rsquo;ve had problems with previous car seats in the past. He says that his new seat is &ldquo;comfortable and squishy&rdquo;. He also loves that he sits up higher and is able to see out his window better. We haven&rsquo;t had it long enough to find anything we don&rsquo;t like or see the need for improvement on. It is made of high quality material. It is quite heavy so it wouldn&rsquo;t be a seat I&rsquo;d personally want to switch between vehicles frequently. But if that was necessary, it&rsquo;s simplicity in installation and converting to fit your child would be a definite positive. I love the rubber pieces on the straps that keep the chest clip in place because my son can buckle himself in easily without having to find the clip or adjust it. It's also really easy to adjust the height as he grows. My son says it's comfortable and he loves the cup holders plus extra holders behind them for snacks and small toys. It seems very safe and we love the side impact protection. Hands down it&rsquo;s the built in safety features, most notably the ClickTight installation system. I installed our seat quickly, securely, and with confidence. The user manual is easy to understand and there are several helpful videos online that visually demonstrate how to safely install this seat in both modes (harness/booster). I also love the triple layer of side impact protection this seat provides my kids and the safe flame retardant free material of the cover as well. The removable cover and fabrics is what makes this seat go the distance in my mind. The fabrics are very comfortable and they are secured by a simple hook and loop system with some easy to handle positioning clips too. I was able to remove all the fabrics from this seat in about 45 seconds. I have 3 children and knowing that I can quickly pop the covers off and run them in the washer and dryer makes life so easy. When it is time to hand the seat over from one child to the next, I can do so knowing the fabrics will be clean and ready to go for new adventures. This seat is a breeze to adjust as well. Both my 3 year old and 6 year old use this seat and my 3 year old needs the crotch buckle moved to the closer position compared to when her sister uses the seat and that process is as easy as pulling the seat fabric back and sliding the buckle to the closer position (no need to uninstall the seat). I highly recommend the Grow With You ClickTight Plus but one thing to consider is the overall width of this seat in your specific vehicle. The triple layer of side impact is awesome but it has a pretty large footprint making this seat wide. It works well in my minivan because I have captain&rsquo;s chairs. However this seat could take up more space in smaller vehicles, especially if you have to install multiple car seats together. Lastly, I want to give a shout out to Britax for exceptional customer service! My minivan headrests are removable in the second row captains chair (so it was an easy and fast install), however the third row seats have vehicle headrests that interfered with a safe install and they are not removable instead they fold down over the front of the vehicle seat. I contacted Britax over Facebook and provided pictures and a CPST reached out and walked me through the safest way to install the seat. The huge drawback I discovered from this logic is that you miss out on all the new features and developments over the years. This car seat is amazing compared to my current car seat. My favorite thing is how incredibly easy it was to install! No more smashing my fingers and arms trying to thread the seat belt between the car seat back and frame. This is so much better! Lift the front of the car seat and follow the guidelines on the seat frame. I love the audible click to help you know the seat belt is latched in place. This method of install was so much more secure than my current car seat with less wiggle and minimal effort. The top anchor tether was a major upgrade from my current car seat as well. This tether has a split with two pieces to go around the headrest instead of under it/through it. This may not seem like a big deal but in a car where the headrest isn't easy to move this was a game changer. Another little detail I like about this car seat is the molding around the head of this seat and at the base. It's completely smooth to prevent indenting the seat. My last car seat didn't have this and damaged my seats in the car. It was extremely easy for me to switch between my kids as well. I have a 6 year old and a 4 year old. It took less than 2 minutes to change the configuration of this seat to switch between them. I love how the harness moves up and down at the push of a button without having to re-thread the seat. The kids loved the 2 cup holders and places to stick snacks. The blue color is gorgeous! I haven't had to take the cover off and wash it yet but I love that you can and the instructions for washing seem pretty easy. The two small nitpicks I have about this seat are I don't really care for the shape of the snack holders and the seat length doesn't work well for my younger child. The snack holders are rectangular and most of the snack containers I have are round and generally made to fit cup holders. The seat isn't the best fit for my 4 year old. She ends up with the seat hitting behind the middle of her calf instead of closer to the knee due to the length of the seat. It's not really a big deal, but it's slightly less comfortable for her than my 6 year old. One word of caution with regards to the size of this seat. It is a wide seat and not slim fit. I was not able to fit this seat along with 2 more in my second row. This seat may not be the best fit for you if you need 3 car seats in your second row. This seat has surpassed my expectations on both. It simply doesn&rsquo;t get better than the click tight installation britax has. Other seats have tried to mimic but there is no comparison. I know with Britax my kiddo is also as safe as can be. This is our first dedicated forward facing seat and my 4.5 year old was thrilled with the arm rests and double cup holders and cubbies. As a parent I appreciate the lower sides for ease getting in and out. Other noted upgrades over our current seat are the crotch buckle holder that keeps it out of the way and I like the rubber chest strap holder so they stay in the right position. The fabric is wonderful and much higher quality than I expected and I love the color. Drawbacks to the seat for me is the width. The base itself isn&rsquo;t that wide but near the top it sticks out right about where it would hit the person in the shoulders who sits next to it. I&rsquo;m sure it&rsquo;s there for safety but definitely a consideration if you want another person or forward facing car seat next to it. Rear facing I think would be fine. I&rsquo;ve also found this seat harder to tighten by pulling the straps than anticipated which could also be due to the height of our SUV/leverage. Something to consider but it wouldn&rsquo;t stop me from purchasing this seat again. It&rsquo;s also very heavy (as all britax are due to their steel construction). It&rsquo;s not a seat I&rsquo;d move cars with much or fly with. Because the seat belt needs to be fully extended to make the reach, the belt locks and must then be returned to it's original position before it can be fully extended again to safely buckle. The wings of this booster prevent the belt from gliding properly back into position once it has been fully extended and locked, you must remove the installed seat to be able to get the belt around the huge wings to reset it, just to overextend it again for the kid to safely buckle up - every single time. The booster mode requires the 5-point harness to be tucked into the wings of the seat, not fully removed. The fabric is so thin you can feel the buckle and components of the harness in the wings. Lastly, the fabric material is attached by a clip that fails as soon as a kid slides in and out of the seat so the bottom portion of the fabric is always flapping around, exposing the tucked away buckle from the 5-point harness as well as the hard plastic of the base of the seat. We have only purchased Britax seats from infant carriers to convertible 5-point harness car seats. We thought their booster seat would be of the same stellar quality and didn't hesitate to spend big dollars on the next size up for growing kids. We were so wrong. I do not feel comfortable using this seat with my kids, the size is an issue even for extra large vehicles, the build quality is very poor for the cost, and I will not recommend this to another parent. We are a house full of Britax car seats these days, so this seat fits right in. Our hands are full at all time now that we were able to move our one-year old daughter from the B-safe 35 Elite to our original Britax Advocate ClickTight. The Grow with You give our son some independence, he can easily climb in and start to get ready while we buckle in our little one. My favorite feature is that this car seat looks and feels like a big kid booster but still has all the amazing safety and quality of other Britax car seats. Those great features do equal more weight than your average car seat, my husband can attest to this as he helped with the heavy lifting and install. So, if you are looking for a seat that is easy to travel with or move from vehicle to vehicle often this may not be my first recommendation. Once the seat is in the car it is very easy to install with the ClickTight system. The only issue we had was getting the strap to latch to the back of the seat after this guy was in my car. Now that it&rsquo;s installed I don&rsquo;t think it will go anywhere! The cupholders are a huge win for our snack loving kid and I now feel comfortable giving him a water bottle and treats on car rides. They even offer a nice landing spot for our son&rsquo;s favorite cars while he is at school (why toddlers must travel with all their things blows my mind). I love that it has the extra cushioning to protect my daughter if we were to be hit on the side because she is right next to the door. It feels a lot safer than some other car seats we've used. Also, I love how easy it is for her to climb into. Her old car seat was a lot more difficult for her to get into, but since the bottom of this one is relatively flat, she can climb right up and start buckling herself. The only thing that took some getting used to is the stickiness of the harness. Once she's all buckled in, tightening her is pretty difficult. You have to pull very hard to tighten the straps. I like the way the seat belt goes through the back of the car seat and then gets secured onto the car seat with the latch system. So you're not just relying on the seat belt to be taut - you can actually secure it in place. We tried a different brand as a travel car seat and another brand as a secondary car seat for a different car and our daughter was just never comfortable in either. So we were happy to have the opportunity to test out this Britax car seat for the weeSpring Parent Panel. We were pleasantly pleased with the asethetics of the carseat and its sleek, simple as unobtrusive as can be design that blended in well with our car. We were a little confused on how to adjust the straps at first, but after reading the instructions again, we realized the straps were so easy to adjust with the quick adjust harness. As our daughter grows, I'm sure this is going to be my favorite feature of it. Even with the confusion, we were able to intall this carseat pretty quickly and our 4 year old jumped in to try it out right away. She immediately said comfy, and wanted a water bottle to test out their cup holders. Another plus is that it easily fits into our small compact hatchback sedan along with another Britax infant car seat for her little bro. It's super easy to strap her in, and the padded straps are comfortable for her. We've been on short drives and long drives and she easily falls asleep comfortably with no complaints.
