We prematurely moved my 5 year old out of a booster that was causing more problems than good but we knew we needed to keep him safe in the car. When this seat/booster arrived we were afraid my 5 yo would fight us about moving back to a booster but he was actually very excited to have a new seat all his own that was comfy and had cup holders! He loved that he could sit in the booster without the harness and use the seat belt like his big brother. The seat safely and comfortably secures my son. I feel so much better with him using this booster and plan to use the harness feature with my 3 yo when the time comes. That being said I did have a difficult time figuring out how to secure the seat and move the harness out of the way given the instructional manual. I have used many seats that have been easier and more intuitive to install. I love the ability to adjust the height of the seat to fit many ages but it didn&rsquo;t move as smoothly as I would have liked. I also love how well this seat fits in our very small third row. There is plenty of leg room for my son when he uses this seat. Pros: Britax is a trusted brand, body of the seat seems sturdy and well made, wide comfy seating, multiple cup holders, headrest can be adjusted with a touch of a button instead of needing to rethread the straps, taller headrest allows for longer harness use, easy to use buckles for both me and my child. Cons: this car seat is on the wider side (I can fit three in a row with a narrow rear facing seat and an infant bucket seat in a large SUV, but otherwise I think it would be difficult if you are trying to seat three in a row in a smaller car or with other average width seats), while installation was simple using the seatbelt method there is still slight side to side movement (I prefer the security of clicktight models), the headrest is loose and flimsy and the foam inside constantly squeaks while driving whether my child is in it or not. The last two cons are considerable flaws in my opinion and make a good car seat just average, which is why I took off 2 stars. It has fantastic safety features including an impact absorbing base, 2 layers of side impact protection, and a steel frame. It&rsquo;s also practical and functional with plenty big cup holders on both sides and additional snack or toy trays next to the cup holders. My daughter is tall for her age and found it to be comfy and the back is high enough to accommodate more growth. It&rsquo;s very easy to adjust the height of the back by just squeezing and then pulling up on the top handle. It also reclines a bit for added comfort. Not as much as a convertible car seat, but enough to help with car naps. The booster installs easily with Latch connectors and the booster can be used in either the 5 point harness strap mode (eg for younger kids) or with the vehicle&rsquo;s seatbelts. Note that this will always be a high back booster - it doesn&rsquo;t convert to just a booster seat, so it&rsquo;s not ideal for moving from vehicle to vehicle or taking on travel since it&rsquo;s much bigger and heavier than a booster seat without a back. The trade off is this is much safer than a regular booster seat. My only wish would be to make the high back removable, but perhaps that would make the seat less sturdy and safe as the steel frame would not wrap around the seat in one piece. Also there is a round fabric cover piece on the buckle that doesn&rsquo;t stay in place well. We have owned other Britax car seats, and they had better buckle covers. I had made the switch to a harness booster for my oldest son and chose a different brand so I was thankful to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this harness booster to be able to have one for my younger son and compare the two seats. Installation was pretty easy, I had a slightly difficult time figuring out the strap thread for the LATCH belt but after that, installation was quick. I like how easy it is to get the seat tight using the LATCH buckles, our other seat is really hard to get secure. I love how much protection there is in the seat, the sides come out farther making the seat more comfortable but also providing more protection. This is better than the other seat we have. I LOVE the two cup holders, anyone with little kids knows that cup holders are as good as gold, to be able to have two is awesome. My boys switch seats a lot, so I have to move the headrest often and I was really pleased with how easy it is to adjust the headrest, even when they are sitting in the seat which I can't do with the other one. My one negative about the seat is that it is easy for the straps to become uneven (one tighter than the other), so when the kids are getting themselves out they can easily mess up the straps and then it is hard to get them both equally tight again. Somehow our other seat doesn't do this. I also thought it would be worth noting that the seat is a wider seat, so if you are needing to do 3 across I'm not sure this is the seat for you. However, if you don't need to be space conscious I love the extra space my son gets in the seat and both boys have said the seat is very comfortable. Overall I am very impressed with this seat and it certainly follows suit with the expectations of a Britax seat; sturdy, safe, comfortable and easy to install. We like that it is forward facing and raises her up high enough that she can look through the windshield. The harness level is adjustable, the only issue with the harness if anything at all, was the buckle cover, it is a large circle meant to keep comfort between the legs. The buckle cover just doesn&rsquo;t stay on as secure as I like. The seat is wide enough so there is ample room for comfortable seating. I felt the seat cushion could have been a little thicker for a softer seating, but my daughter hasn&rsquo;t complained once. I love the coloring of it, black and red with the cooling feature being gray with blue. We are excited this will be the last seat we will need for her as it is capable of 120 lbs. I was able to supply an extra car seat in my secondary vehicle for quick trips and daycare pick up/drop offs. The seat was very easy to install using the LATCH belt system. Honestly, the best feature is being able to quickly adjust the strap levels by simply pressing the handle on the seat back and sliding it up or down. I don&rsquo;t have to have 2 car seats in my secondary vehicle which saves me money and time. Yes, that means only 1 child at a time, however, it allows another parent to use their own vehicle instead of having to meet and switch cars even if it&rsquo;s needed to get 1 kid! I like the high impact protector sides that adjust to shield a growing child no matter the age and size. I&rsquo;m impressed with the integrated steel frame. It is on the heavy side so I wouldn&rsquo;t recommend using this seat as one that needs to constantly move between two vehicles. Very few cons such as this car seat is on the bigger side so it most likely won&rsquo;t work for families that need 3 across. Also, the fabric is NOT machine washable so wipe down only, but the fabric is smooth and breathable so easy to keep clean. This seat is ready to go as soon as you get it out the box and does not require anything to be put together. The installation of the car seat was straight forward using the latch system. My child that uses the seat loves how comfortable it is and also loves the built in cup holders which are in a great location. As I have said I really like the fact that it can be used with a 5 point harness or with that tucked away nicely within the seat, as a booster using the car seat belt. It is very easy to adjust the seat back up and down to make sure the harness and head restraint are at the correct height. The one thing that was slightly tricky was maneuvering the seat into the car, as it is pretty heavy. I also feel it is necessary to harness my children until they are 7 or 8 even if they fit the height or weight requirements for a booster. I love this car seat because I can still harness my 6 year old who is 3&rsquo;7 and 50 pounds. Because she is taller, she thinks she shouldn&rsquo;t have to be harnessed and so it makes life difficult in getting her to buckle every time we get into the car. On the first day I set up the car seat (easy install, by the way....we used the latch option), she hopped in there and smiled. She was able to buckle herself and stayed buckled the whole time. This is huge! A few positives after using the booster a few weeks: * Easy install. I love Britax for their simple installations and setups. * Amazing safety features. I love what Britax stands for and their commitment to providing the safest car seats for my babies. * Easy for little hands to buckle. * Sturdy armrests. * Comfortable for the bigger kiddos. * Easily adjustable and grows with the child. * Higher weight limit than other car seats. A few cons: * I disliked the color. Would love something more unique and fun! * The seat looks like it will stain easily. * My daughter could not unbuckle which may be a pro to some or a con to others. My kids are constantly riding with different family members, which I have to make sure there are plenty of car seats to go around. When I was sent this booster seat I did not know the brand I was getting but when that Britax box arrived at the front door I was ecstatic! Britax has been my go to brand for the last 4 years!! Before then, I was a new mother that just went with whatever brands my friends had. I found out quickly that there were features that I felt were a must have for my peace of mind, sanity and also stylish personality. When shopping for our high back booster seats I usually have a few key points that always need to be checked off. Dependability... A booster seat needs to function for an extended period of time, and with that, I need to know it will last. When one child is done with the booster most likely I have another ready to take it over, which means our seats usually last their whole lifetime in our family. I don't want to worrying about whether the seat is going be safe enough for my next child. Britax uses high strength steel for their car seat frames which puts my mind at ease because I know it's built to last! With a rating of 25-65 lbs for forward facing with the harness, then belt positioning booster mode for up to 120 lbs I know this seat will last from the time they graduate a rear facing seat all the way up till they no longer need a car seat at all! Comfort... The Cool Flow technology of this seat is something new that we had not had before. My smallest guy puts off a lot of heat but with the ventilated mesh fabric he seems to be more comfortable. Especially when he falls asleep in the seat. The padding in the head rest is thicker than some of the other seats we have tried, which again, adds to that comfort. This seat also has TWO cup holders AND extra space for toys or snacks. What more could a toddler ask for!? We haven't needed to wash the padding yet, but they did seem easy enough to remove if we needed to. We have only used this seat in the harness mode so far with our little guy and he really enjoys it! In fact, he wanted to climb in and test it out before we had a chance to adjust the head rest (as you can see in the photo). Don't worry though! The quick adjust headrest and harness was easy to adjust! No need to take the seat out to re-adjust the straps and headrest!! Just push in the red lever and pull up (or down). I would buy this carseat over again just for this feature alone for my own SANITY!! Easy to Install... Ok, I will admit when I first pulled this seat out of the box I thought it didn't come with latch buckles. It does! I just had to find the little compartment in the booster that they were tucked into(with a little help from the manual). Once I was able to thread the buckle through the seat my husband was ready to install it. At this point in the game he has become my expert car seat installer. Something else that is new was the V shaped tether for the top latch. My husband was so impressed with this feature he had to show me how it worked! Most other car seats center their tether in the middle of the back of the seat. That usually always leaves some give and the top of the seat can easily be moved a inch or two in either direction when you push it side to side. The V shaped tether nearly eliminated this give and was the most secure we have ever felt a high back booster been before! We haven't had the need to remove the seat but just from Britax experience their easy-on/ easy- off latch system is by far easier to use than other latch anchors. Britax uses a release mechanism that remind me of a seat belt release. Just push the red button and you can remove the latch with ease. No more fighting with the latch anchors (which I have done many times, for long periods of time, with other cheaper brands). Stylish... If I am going to have something in my car for a few years it has got to look good right?? The black design with the teal mesh is a real eye catcher in my opinion. It just looks so modern and sleek. I kinda hope the other moms will catch a glimpse of this cool seat in my car, haha! It's really something I am proud to have my child ride in every day. I am looking forward to having this seat for my youngest to use from now till the end of his car seat days. Even though I received this booster seat as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel, if I was shopping for another booster this would have been most likely at the top of my list. Installing the seat in the car was a little tricky because of how the pathway is with the seat belt (and not using the lower LATCH). Because of my kids&rsquo; size and weight, the seat belt goes behind his back in the car seat and it&rsquo;s a bit different because the cushion back of the car seat has to sit flat. That is easier said than done. It&rsquo;s still a good quality car seat and the fact that it will fit a kid up to 120lbs is an amazing feature. My son really likes the armrests and cup holders and says it&rsquo;s comfortable. I have always loved and trusted Britax products. This seat did not disappoint either. The steel frame always gives extra reassurance as a mom. I love that it can go from 5 point harness, to using the car&rsquo;s seat belt fairly easily. It is also easy to install with or without the LATCH system. We chose to use the seat belt installation, as LATCH is not available in our third row. I didn&rsquo;t know which brand we were getting, and I was very excited to see that we received a Britax - both of my kids have been riding in their Britax convertible seats since they were newborns. I&rsquo;ve always thought Britax makes some of the best car seats out there. And when we took the seat out of the box, it didn&rsquo;t disappoint. The Grow With You Harness-2-Booster Car Seat is attractive and it feels solid. I pulled out the manual to see how to adjust it for my son and he was excited to try it out. It was easy to raise the headrest to adjust the harness, I easily moved the bottom buckle outward, and was pleasantly surprised to see that there&rsquo;s a simple recline function. Meanwhile my son was telling me all the things that he was going to keep in the 4 cup holders! My son is almost 40 pounds, so we got ready to install the seat using the lap-shoulder belt, since the instructions say not to use LATCH when the child is over 45 lbs. We assumed we&rsquo;d be installing this and leaving it for a long time and we didn&rsquo;t want to forget to switch over to the lap-shoulder belt installation. Well, my husband, who is our resident car seat installer (and has installed at least 7 different kinds of car seats dozens of times), went out to the car with the seat and didn&rsquo;t come back for a long time. He came back and claimed defeat. He said no matter what he did, the bottom of the seat just didn&rsquo;t feel securely installed using the lap-shoulder belt method. So I went out and tried, and I found the same thing. One of the bottom edges of the seat would feel pretty well installed, and the top felt pretty solid since we were using the tether anchor, but the other bottom side just seemed to move a ton even when we tightened it as much as possible. We normally install the seat in the middle row of our mini van and I even tried the seat in the back row as well as the middle row, with the same result. Ultimately, we just didn&rsquo;t feel comfortable having our son ride in the seat. Maybe someday we&rsquo;ll find someone who can install it more securely, but even then I don&rsquo;t feel very comfortable using a seat that I can&rsquo;t install correctly myself - what if there&rsquo;s a reason for me to remove and reinstall the car seat when I&rsquo;m on my own? I think it&rsquo;s a shame that we don&rsquo;t feel we can use the seat because the seat feels so nice and solid, I&rsquo;m not quite sure what we&rsquo;ll do with it. It also gives me pause that this version doesn&rsquo;t say it has a washable cover, while the more expensive versions do. A washable seat is definitely a desirable feature for me. A possible downside to this seat is that it&rsquo;s so heavy, much heavier than the travel harness-to-booster we bought recently to travel with. But our Britax seats have always been heavy and it&rsquo;s never been a problem because they&rsquo;ve always just stayed installed in our car. If I were purchasing a seat like this, I&rsquo;d definitely try one of the higher end versions of this seat, one of the ones with a washable seat that comes with ClickTight installation. My second son&rsquo;s Britax convertible seat came with ClickTight and it&rsquo;s really a very easy and secure way to install the seat. My concern is with the harness. It wouldn't stay tightened and the straps easily were tangled. The cushions on the straps were also uncomfortable for my daughter. She has Cerebral Palsy and needs as much support as possible in a car seat. I didn't feel that this seat gave that to her. My husband installed them both in 5 minutes. The instructions were so easy. We put these in my husband's truck and, every since they've been used, my kids don't want to ride in their old car seats. They look so comfortable - I wish they made these for adults! Before owning these, we had high back booster seats without harnesses. My 2.5 year old unbuckled himself and was walking around while we were driving on the freeway. Thank goodness we no longer have to worry about that. These have been great for safety and comfort and I could not be happier. Britax has always been my preferred brand and this new design does not disappoint. The seat installed fairly easily and even fit perfectly In our 12 passenger van next to the infant bucket seat which was essential for us cause space is limited. I found that it looked a lot bulkier than it actually was once installed. The material of the straps is a bit different than our older seats and I love that cause they are softer and not as stiff. The buckles also seem a bit sturdier. My 4 yr old has a harder time unbuckling one this seat which I prefer because I know he&rsquo;s not taking them off while driving. While it&rsquo;s harder for him I don&rsquo;t find it difficult for myself to unbuckle him. We love everything about this seat but our favorite feature is probably the cool technology. The first time my son rode in it he actually made a comment about how he loved it because his back wasn&rsquo;t sweaty and I had never mentioned that feature to him. I love the preschool and big kid options. It takes up less space than previous car seats, but has the same features and more. We were able to install in 5 minutes thanks to the color coded belt guides. The comfort level is excellent thanks to the soft side impact protection. My son is now able to comfortably take a nap in it thanks to the two reclining positions and the padded side support. The overall appearance could've been a little better but I will say that the car seat cover is very easy to remove if needed to be washed. The foam on the headrest squeaked incessantly. Not sure if design flaw or just this seat. Have had 6 other Britax from infant to toddler and they were great. The foam in the headrest was like the foam on a cheap foam ice cooler.
