Does require a 9v battery for the metal detector, which can either be used handheld or attach to the front of the truck. The rock tumbler is a fun feature when also paired with the water container stored in the bottom for the rocks to be tumbled and rinsed off. Comes with 2 shovel style attachments that attach by the door. Truck is fun but missed opportunity to be a remote control truck with less crawling around to get the truck to move.</span>
