He needs a little help getting the beyblades in place on the holder, but he totally loves pulling the ripcord out and the fighting and destruction that ensues when battling. I'm new to these little beyblades, but I take it that you can buy more of the beyblade components to assemble in various configurations to best battle your opponent. In terms of the gold and black ones that come with this set, the gold one pretty much always wins. He loves this ring and thought the blades that came with it were neat. He stands across the room sometimes to launch them and look cool and neither the blades or the arena has broken or been damaged. So they definitely hold up. So when given the chance, I grabbed this. Its so much fun! My only comments would be - it needs to be put together by an adult if you&rsquo;ve got kids who are younger, or like my son, special needs and has issues with hand eye coordination. The pieces are fairly large so I&rsquo;d imagine it&rsquo;s fine for older kids or kids who don&rsquo;t have issues. It actually works great for practice! Also keep them in the arena center. It is easy to put together but the bay blades are extremely cheap as opposed to the older versions that are heavier. The rip cord itself does not hold the bay blade on like it should so it falls off and you can get it to go.
