The excitement was palpable right from the start as my boys eagerly donned their scientist aprons and cool glasses. The toy, complete with flashy lights and roaring sounds, added an extra layer of thrill to the experiment. As the &quot;experiment&quot; progressed, the toy emitted smoke, heightening the excitement even further. Every minute of this experience was a delight for my boys, and their enthusiasm reached new heights when the bright green goop drained out, unveiling the shark. It was an exhilarating adventure from start to finish! It takes 6 batteries which worried me slightly but the sound effects are spectacular and the kids loved the finger print scanner. The whole design process kept the kids entertained and excited, they adored pressing the handle down and when the whole thing started smoking (bio mist) they really believed they were creating a beast. And the actual beast that was revealed is a decent toy with lights and sound effects in its own right. They enjoyed adding the various ingredients, particularly the one where it frothed and bubbled. The lights and sounds build anticipation, with button, dial and lever actions making this a dynamic play experience. The smoke effects are absolutely brilliant, and are something that the magical elves at Moose Toys are becoming known for (you need to check out their Magic Lamp). The reveal of the beast has a real wow factor and it's great that the beast, once released from the lab, has additional sound, light and action features so that it is a great toy in its own right. Our kids and their friends loved the whole experience. The creator can be refilled with 'slime' for further reveals by pressing a button on the bottom and refills are available for the creating process but additional beasts aren't currently available to buy, something I hope Moose Toys will reconsider. Currently, there are two shark beasts and two dino beasts, and the box indicates whether it is a shark or dino but not which one. They enjoyed the reveal process especially my son who is into his science. They liked the refill experiments too. We were gifted both Beast Lab and a Refill pack. This is an honest review. The Lab was missing a battery cover which was disappointing as I didn't feel it was safe to let my kids play with this alone due to liquids or just health and safety. If a child gets an incomplete item on Christmas day, that is awful. The process was easy enough for them to follow and that is good for a slow reveal toy. It is currently at a price point too high for us especially as it requires 6 AA batteries as they are not included and that is annoying as imagine opening this on Christmas Day and having no batteries! Even just cheap display batteries would be better than none. The beast toy is chunky and easy to play with. The berserk mode was fun. My son especially enjoys playing with this. The refill pack added two new experiments which was good as the kids really got into the process but the weapon reveal was a bit rubbish as it never dissolved. My kids would give this 10/10. With easy to follow steps there were so many different aspects to this experiment which gave the children plenty of opportunities to take turns and carry out different aspects of the experiment! Colourful,noisy,smoky and full of mystery - The absolute essentials were all covered. The shark that they had made was everything they hoped for and more with different action moves and modes. I love the way it slowly revealed it and they was so excited, watching it drain down. The whole experience was interesting and exciting. I would advise first to read instructions and put all ingredients in order not to mix up anything.
