[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this doll for my granddaughter, who is 3 years old to try out. She loves baby dolls so I thought she would love this as the doll looks just like her. One afternoon I brought the doll out during playtime at her house. The doll is beautifully dressed and has shiny hair brown hair just like my granddaughter. At first my granddaughter seemed interested in the doll. However very quickly she lost interest in it. She did not understand what the walking stick was for, though I did attempt to show her. The walking stick was left to the side right from the start. She immediately wanted to remove the clothes on the doll, which was difficult for her to do by herself. And she did not like that all the joints in the doll didn’t move and she could not pose her as she wanted. The doll was put to the side in favor of her larger baby dolls that she can undress herself. I think that this doll is not really meant for most 3 year old's as they do not yet have the dexterity to remove and chance the clothes. Also having a full jointed doll would make for more ways to play with it. I think if my granddaughter was 5 she would have been more interested in this doll. The doll however is beautifully made and I like that it is inclusive to those with vision issues.

Why
She's blind and you put her in platform heels?? What are the comments below about 'inclusivity' about? Are there signs up in braille that say "no sight no service!" In businesses?! I don't think so. Being blind isn't some racial or political situation. If people need dolls to tell their kids what blindness is then..maybe parents need to take the time to teach kid's that these are people like anyone else, only with some impairment. As a person with a blind parent, and hereditary sight issues myself, I find this cashing in on things and bringing attention to them like this is like standing up in public and pointing to someone while screaming "IMPAIRED!!!!"

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this toy in return for an honest review. The packaging is attractive and has Braille text. The colors and design of the package is appealing. The Braille allows visually impaired individuals to know what is in the package. My only criticism of the packaging is, in order to released the doll, scissors are needed. This may present a challenge for adults with visual impairment to release the doll for a child. I would recommend a more stress free packaging. The inclusion of the sunglasses and white cane shows the manufacturer’s attention to detail. The clothing is fashionable. The shoes are functional. In comparison to Barbie dolls in the past, these shoes are designed to fit and remain on the feet. The doll has all the features that Barbie is know for while also providing a child exposure to individuals with disabilities.

Wonderful addition to the Barbie Family!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Barbie is visually impaired. There is information in the lower right corner of the plastic packaging that says ‘Barbie’ in contracted Braille. Barbie is wearing a light pink satin top and a purple ruffle skirt with metallic edges. She can identify both these items by touch. This is helpful whether her clothes are hanging in a closet or folded in a drawer. Barbie has a white cane (also known as a blindness cane). The cane goes up to her shoulder, which is the right size for her. The cane has a tip that is white (called a marshmallow tip because it is white). The cane also has a red stripe that helps Barbie navigate curbs or other surfaces. Barbie has sunglasses to give protection for light sensitivity. She also has a slightly upward gaze that blind people may have. This Barbie is another way to continue inclusivity for children who have visual impairment. My four year old granddaughter loved introducing this Barbie to her existing ‘Barbie’ and learning about visually impaired people and how they use different aids and resources to help with everyday life.
