This opportunity to test and review the preschool sized Barbie came at a great time. I really like how the Barbie doll has the articulated arms and legs. My three year old knows all her body parts and to be able to show and explain to her how our bodies move and bend in a certain way is a teachable moment especially with this doll. Another thing about this doll that is great for preschoolers is that it has a softer body and is a little bigger in size to where a three year old is able to hold onto it. This gives the preschooler the ability to use their fine motor to brush, dress, and play with the Barbie because it is catered to a three year old. My child is on a routine and knows about day time and night time. I like that this Barbie doll comes with a daytime and nighttime outfit because it shows my child that the Barbie has a routine, just like her. My child likes to dress up the Barbie in her outfit and shoes as well as put on her accessories. My child does ask for assistance after she tries to clothe the Barbie and isn’t able to. My child’s fine motor development is not as developed to where a five year old’s fine motor would be. So the ability to design this doll for a three year old is pretty great for them to have the ability to do the the things they want to do with less frustration. It will also help and give them the opportunity to be able to master these tasks by themselves overtime. The only thing I’m not a huge fan on is the shoes. They not only seem to not want to stay on, but to my three year old she doesn’t have high heels nor know what those are yet. She knows shoes, like tennis shoes, sandals, or slippers. If the preschool Barbie is meant for children in the preschool aged setting I think maybe it should come with a pair of tennis shoes because they know what those are and they also seem to stay on a bit better than the high heels that tend to fall off. To a preschooler, they can often become frustrated when things are meant to work but don’t or when they know what they want something to do but just can’t manipulate it because of their fine motor is just not as developed yet. Overall, I think the development of a preschool aged Barbie will be a huge hit to mothers and fathers out there that are unsure of when to introduce a Barbie to their child. This Barbie is for toddlers/preschoolers and I would definitely purchase it if you have a toddler or preschooler that likes dolls.</span>

This Barbie is made to be slightly larger and heavier than regular Barbie dolls. This makes it so much easier for my daughter to hold her and dress her. My favorite feature is the Velcro on the clothing because it runs down the complete backside of each clothing piece, making it super easy for little tiny hands and fingers to actually dress the Barbie themselves. My little girl is able to completely dress and accessorize her My first Barbie without asking for a single bit of help. The Barbie also is made with flexible, bendable joints that allow for different positioning which makes for better role play. She is made of a softer, rubber like material almost silicone-like rather than hard plastic. Her accessories are easily added to the wardrobe, with features that allow good grip, snug fit so they aren’t constantly falling off. My toddler can add any of the clothing and accessories to Barbie all on her own. She comes with two complete outfits, one day time dress with pink heels, then her nighttime wardrobe featuring a nightgown, wedge purple slippers, an eye-mask and little stuffed animal which are the cutest things ever. There are two headbands to mix and match between outfits. She also has a bag that could be used as a purse or nighttime bag for a sleepover! A brush is also included to keep her long beautiful hair nice and tamed. Her hair is very long and soft with a cute, styled half-pony to the side. It is cute, even with no headband added. I love the way this toy promotes so much independence for a starter Barbie doll. It’s exactly what needed to be added to the Barbie collection. This is the perfect toy for toddlers and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone. 10/10!</span>

This doll is great for little hands. She is significantly larger than the original doll and the clothes open all the way in back which make them perfect for little hands. I gave my daughter this doll and she was able to change her outfit all by herself. That has NEVER happened with the original dolls. The material of this doll is different than the original dolls. It is a softer rubber, whereas the original doll is more of a hard plastic. The change in body material makes a difference when a younger child is trying to maneuver the dolls arms into the outfits. My daughter was so proud of herself and loved changing her outfit from her “morning outfit” to her “night outfit”. We love this doll and will be purchasing other items in the ‘My First Barbie’ line because of ease of use!</span>
