I personally like aquabeads because I don't have to iron anything. My daughter (7 years old) can do these all on her own. Win! The set says it's for kids 4+ years - but I suggest a tad older. My 5 year old daughter struggled a bit due to her little hands and the small beads. She needed more guidance...so if you're willing to help the little ones then go for it. But I prefer hands off. :) The carrying case is helpful to keep everything contained but it is a bit bulky.</span>

The hinges weren't really hinges and everything separated so easier. Then I realized that it was made that way on purpose because when you have the tiny beads resting on one part, you don't want to be flipping things around to open it up. So once we got the hang of it and how it assembles and why it was constructed this way it made tons of sense. My daughter loves the little pencil dropper thing and started getting pretty darn good at it pretty quick. We separated all the beads and organized them in the compartments. Then used the tools to sort the beads we needed for the design we picked. Placing the beads is a little challenging at first, but we got the hang of it pretty quickly and took turns making our flamingo design. It was easy to spray and set the design. It took a little longer than the fifteen minutes to dry, but it came out really nice and my kids can't wait to make more! Great activity for kids!</span>

They are a bit finicky to place and we ate slowly getting the hang of it. The first project we made did not turn out well but we have made several since. This is really fun for me also and I may have done a few on my own.</span>
