I knew that I wanted to breastfeed my baby but I was worried that she would refuse a bottle like my first born did. With several work trips on the horizon I wanted to get her used to drinking from them early on and I needed the peace of mind that my baby would be well cared for. This had everything we needed and more! The bottle warmer makes those night time feedings so much easier. It can heat nearly frozen milk to the perfect temperature within minutes. The bottle brush makes cleaning the bottles so quick and simple. The sterilizer is easy to use and can sterilize both bottles and my breast pump equipment in just two minutes. This kit also comes with a pacifier, larger bottles, and a detachable handle for when baby is coordinated enough to feed herself. These bottles are the only ones my baby will drink out of. The bottle warmer makes it so simple to heat up breast milk without destroying its composition. Both my mom and husband who have shared baby watching duties while I traveled have said that the bottle warmer and sterilizer made feedings go so smoothly. Little girl hasn't had any issues with spit-up or gas with these bottles. If you are a momma looking for a great starter kit, look no further! The only drawback is the real estate it takes up in my cabinet. As she grows and the volume increases, she started to drink much faster causing her to be gassy and colicky. We were very lucky to receive this gift set from weeSpring Parent Panel to test and in return provide our honest review of the set. Before receiving this, we were using whatever free bottles that came in the registry gift bags but they either made her gassy, choked her due to a fast flow, or she just didn't like the nipples. When we received these Philips Avent anti-colic bottles, our first impression was that it would most likely be the same as the regular Philips Avent bottles but to our surprise, it did helped our daughter in her gassiness. She also choked less on the bottles. Being a preemie, the flow was still faster for her but she learned to adapt to it and was able to pace herself on these bottles. Who would have known a small piece of the air venting plastic would make a difference. A few pros and cons from this gift set: The advantages: 1. Air venting system is easy to install and clean. The piece can be easily removed for babies who may not be as affected by gas. The system clips securely to the bottle and milk can flow into the nipple freely and air would be pushed out of the nipple and or through the venting system into the bottle. We did notice that the system did help with our daughter's gassiness. She still needs to burp but less frequently as opposed to the other bottles. 2. This gift set is useful for first time mom as it comes with a sterilizer, bottle warmer, multiple size bottles, a bottle brush, and a few other items. - the bottle warmer is a great add-on to the set, it's easy to use, pretty much plug and play. It did take us a while to understand how to set the dial but once we've read the manual, it was pretty straight forward. It warms the milk evenly and does not overheat the bottles. We've also tried it with all the other bottles/bags we have and they fit in the bottle warmer just fine. - multiple size bottles are definitely helpful as it's great to have a working system as the baby grows. Being a preemie, my daughter is still using the level 1, 4oz bottles. As she grows, we will definitely progress to the different bottles and nipples. - the bottle brush is a nice bonus, it's sturdy and fits into the bottles perfectly. The opposite end has ribbed silicone for cleaning the inside of the nipples. The disadvantages: 1. Unfortunately the bottle warmer does not have a timer so the warmer continues to warm at the temperature until it gets turned off. What we did was have a timer set up beside the warmer and when the timer goes off, we remember to turn the warmer off. 2. Level 1 nipples do flow quite quickly for a preemie, I wish Philips Avent comes out with a preemie flow to accommodate some of the smaller slower babies. 3. The pacifiers that came with the gift set are Orthodontic Pacifier, unfortunately, my daughter hated that kind of pacifiers. She prefers the regular nipple soothie. I wished the gift set came with two different kinds so the babies can have a choice. I would definitely recommend this gift set to expecting parents or first time parents to add to their registries. The bottles worked out great - the wide mouth was super easy to clean with the included brush, and they worked with and without the green colic-reducing attachment. The sterilizer was easy to use, just really really big so it was hard to find a convenient place to store it. The bottle warmer was also very easy to use, though not as fast as I would have liked. I tried it a few times, but went back to just using hot water pretty quickly. But the caregivers who used it really liked it. Pacifiers were just fine - but my baby isn&rsquo;t picky about pacifiers. The bottles come out very clean... and it can also be used for pump parts. Although my baby isn't a colic'y baby, he hasn't had any abnormal amount of spit-up or gas from using these bottles. With my first child I used Avent Natural style bottles and was planning to reuse them for my second baby, but after comparing the two I am now using the Anti-colic with AirFree vent style exclusively as it decreased the gassiness that kept my baby from being able to lie flat to sleep. I also really like that these anti-colic bottles have easy to clean parts (the AirFree vent is only one extra piece--other friends have used bottles with multiple extra parts that look complicated to clean). The gift set came with two different stage nipples which is nice, though wish it had come with more than two of each stage for less washing (I did end up buying another set of stage 1 nipples for my own convenience). The bottle brush is ergonomic and works much better than it would appear to when comparing it to other bottle brushes I've used in the past, cleaning the upper curvy areas inside the bottle with ease (it's also more stylish sitting on my counter on the bottle drying rack than other brushes I've used). The sanitizer is great because of it's large size/capacity, and it actually serves multiple purposes--I sanitize bottles, but also use it sanitize my breast pump parts which is a huge time saver. The bottle warmer works well and is faster than heating up water separately to defrost or warm up breast milk; my husband uses it upstairs in our bedroom to warm up milk in the middle of the night when I have overnight work shifts, so he doesn't even have to leave the room to feed the baby. Our baby isn't yet old enough to try the My First Transition Cup but I definitely plan to try it when we're ready to move toward sippy cups, and since I breast feed we don't use the formula dispenser for formula however we have found a handy use for it--we store small snacks for my toddler when we're on the go. I would absolutely recommend adding this set to your baby registry, or giving it as a gift to an expecting or new mom since it truly includes everything you need for feeding right out of the box. To start, I have experience with a couple bottle brands between my two kids. My two year old used Avent natural bottles while my 5 month old usually takes another bottle brand. I liked the Avent brand for my son who had no gastrointestinal issues but my daughter did so that&rsquo;s why we initially went with another brand that was recommended to us. When the insert for these Avent bottles actually did what they were meant to do, which is keep air out of the nipple, they worked great for my daughter. You can feed your baby totally upright with the insert in these bottle. However, they didn&rsquo;t always work. Two of them had cracks in them upon delivery and were useless. The biggest issue I have with this bottle is that the nipple doesn&rsquo;t seal quite right enough with the ring that screws onto the bottle so during travel the bottle leaks a little. The nipple is also a bit fast for a small baby with feeding issues. I wish the set came with at least one of Avent&rsquo;s zero nipples. My favorite part about the bottle warmer is it&rsquo;s ability to safely defrost breast milk. I also like the temperature hold setting that keeps things warm until baby is ready for them. I use these two settings all the time. If you need a bottle wormed as soon as possible I wouldn&rsquo;t go with this warmer. It takes a long time to heat cold bottles and the heater never turns off on its own so I&rsquo;ve burned a couple of bottles. The bottle brush is good but I wish it had bristles all the way around and a smaller set of bristles for nipples. My five month old takes the pacifier briefly but then spits it out. She usually takes another brand of pacifiers. My two year old likes these pacifiers. I love that the pacifiers come with caps! The formula container is great! Some are so hard to open when you need to refill them but this one is easy to open. Overall, I don&rsquo;t think I would gift this to anyone or recommend the whole set because I think that the bottle warmer is dangerous. I&rsquo;ve read the directions multiple times and still can&rsquo;t totally figure it out. These pacifiers are what I used with my first so I knew I wanted my second to use them as well. The nipple shape is consistent on the top and bottom, which is what I was told to look for from a lactation consultant. The bottle warmer works quickly and effectively to warm bottles and baby food. It also is aesthetically pleasing because it is a matte white rather than shiny so I feel that I can keep it on my counter (it's the little things). The steam sterilizer is great. I used it right away to sanitize all the pacifiers and bottle nipples before baby arrived. It works easily and quickly. Also, I love this idea of turning bottles into beginner sippy cups, with the included handles and sippy nipple.
