We received this and the boys can't stop playing with it, I actually had to hide it so they would not take it to school today. Nice quality toy. This weekend planning on going out and buying a few more since the boys both love it so much. I don't know that we ever actually played at battling, but the imaginative 'monsters' or whatever were always fun to collect. This product takes that old idea and makes it into a very kinetic experience with flailing arms and pieces of armor to knock off. When we got this, I wasn't expecting a lot. Another gimmick that would be played with for a bit and shelved. It's actually kind of fun and relatively innovative as far as toys are concerned. I guess the movable parts make it 'more' than some of the other toys like this. You press the button and the character spins around and it's arms flail rapidly. The point is to knock the other character's armor off and ultimately defeat them in a 'split in half' sort of way that's dramatic and fun. My ten year old really enjoys playing with it and I really like that it's not currently attached to any sort of media I know of. I bought extra's so his sisters can play with him. It's a small toy. It's a fun game. And you have to be quick with it. Use your thumbs very fast.. It's a quality game to play. The value is great for these pieces. .
