It's made for kids 6+ so he definitely thought it was cool. I think you need another similar toy for them to do actual battle, but he improvised and made it work with other small toys. The toy battles other toys essentially. The toy is not very big, but kept him busy for a bit. Definitely recommend if you have a couple kids playing with them. Does have small parts so stick with the 6+ age range. I just need to get more for them all to play. The buttons are easy to push and its easy to put together and the pieces are not super lose to where they assemble but look like they are falling apart. You really need two to make this fun. It looks like those old robots when I was growing up that fought by pushing a button. This is the same idea but with updated looks and sturdier materials. When looking to purchase more I noticed there are two sizes. This one is bigger than the others, I&rsquo;m not sure if they would work with the smaller ones. I have hard time clipping the drillborg to the base though but it's still cool. Such a fun and cool set for my sons to keep them entertained and they want to collect all the battle giants. The giant Akedo battle warriors are a little different from the first arena series; they definitely enjoy battling each other with the figures. Included with the figure is: the action figure, a controller, an accessory and the directions. You do not need an arena to play with these figures- just 2 figures and you are ready for battle. My boys love playing all variations of battling games. They enjoyed adding this to their collection and I know we will be buying more in the future for them.
