It's constantly going - I think he may run the batteries out soon! It's really easy to get it set up to play and he loves the characters. There's also a fart noise mixed in with the sounds and as an 8 year old boy, this produces mountains of giggles! It comes with a punching bag accessory too - so he spends a while &quot;training&quot; his fighters before sending them into the ring! It's really well made - sturdy and holds up well against my not-so-gentle 8 year old! It may look small but it's certain to keep kids entertained for hours. He loves the sound effects from the battle arena; even a chicken, goat and fart sound is thrown in to the mix, which my son found hilarious! It comes with batteries included so my son could play with it straight away, no waiting around. There's an awesome 35 sound effects and included are 2 figures; Turbo Chux Lee and Screenshot.
