He smiles and is amazed at all the toys and the music it plays. He love the lights he stares at them all the time. I love that this toy can grow with him he's to little to use the pit but I know he'll love that as well I also love how you can let the side down and it's bigger or you can put the side up if you have a roller. This toy keeps my son entertained long enough to do work around the house. I love that it brings a little pillow for belly time, it's the only one I found with the pillow. My child has impaired vision and absolutely loves this play mat, at first we were a little nervous thinking he wouldn't have much interest in it but we were wrong. He loves that he can kick the balls around and the sides of it and the noises the hanging rattles make as he kicks, it comes with a small mirror on the top and he sometimes seems to be able to see into it. I definetly recommend this activity mat to any parent, it's very versatile and super easy to put together and to change into a flat mat back to the sides being up. The colors are bright and all of the toys are engaging. My little one spends hours in-and-out of the Activity Gym. The ball pit is genius.
