Very cool ride on toy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We were able to test the Rollplay Nighthawk ride on toy thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel. Originally I thought my 6 year old would love it, but my 10 year old gets a lot more enjoyment out of it. It takes some getting use to how to balance and maneuver and my son quickly lost interest. My daughter is still loving it and will go out and ride it until she gets too cold. She loves the speed and having a ride on toy that actually still fits her and doesn’t go extremely slow! We are really excited for summer to come back around so we can get more use out of it. I really appreciate how compact and easy to store it is. One of our biggest problems with ride on toys has always been finding a place to store it when the kids aren’t using them.

So much fun
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is such an awesome and exhilarating ride. My son really loves and enjoys riding this vehicle. It took him just about a minute to get a hang of it. I like that it comes fully assembled so I didn’t need to put anything together. All we needed to do was just to charge the battery before use. I love the uniqueness of this ride, it’s quite unlike what we’ve seen or had before. The neighbors always stop to compliment and look at the the ride. It is easy to store on the side. I must say though that it doesn’t work on grass or gravel because we tested it on those. It is such an awesome outdoor fun ride for kids.

Sledding on pavement
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Nighthawk as a part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. At this point in my parenting I wouldn’t buy something like this - and 5&2 my kids are too young. But the 8-10 yr old kids on our block and even me had a great time with it.
I suggest this more for older kids because it takes a lot more coordination than a traditional 4 wheels with a steering wheel setup. There is a gas foot button and a brake foot button but the steering is done by leaning side to side meaning you must have balance, minimal fear of tilting over sideways and falling, ability to use both gas and brake, and enough oomph to haul it side to side. A little scary, quite thrilling. I found it felt much like sledding on one of the saucer sleds.
It’s nice that it is very flat and not terribly heavy so storing it upright would be easy to take up less space. Since one of our cars was gone for the duration of the trial I didn’t do much checking with this to make sure it could stand up independently or if it would need to be propped up.
The flag included on the back is a nice thought but not really value added for the way mine was used. The 2YO kept pulling it out and running around with it and living in an open suburban street any cars would see the kid well before they’d register the presence of the flag.
Charging was straightforward. The connectors were easy to clip and unclip and seem decently sturdy. The instructions do warn that it needs to be charged outside of the house so make sure there is a garage or exterior outlet available to be compliant with that. I didn’t do any research to find out what is the hazard with charging it inside.
All in, it’s a fun little kart and I think my kids will thoroughly enjoy it in a few years.

Fun rollplay with good battery life
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My children have a lot of fun with this rollplay. It requires some balance and skill, and was difficult for them to operate the first time, but after 2 or 3 tries they are able to maneuver it well. It's not super fast; my kids can easily run as fast as it goes. The battery lasts quite a while so they are able to ride as much as they want before needing to charge it. It needs a flat, smooth surface to drive on, it doesn't work on grass or inclines like a steeper driveway. The worst thing about it is charging the battery - you have to unscrew and remove the seat and clip a wire in. I was given this product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

Super cool thrill ride
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Can they make an adult Nighthawk please?!
Right out of the box this ride on looked super cool. It was fully assembled, packaged well and ready to go. My five year old couldn't wait to get on! It took about a day of getting used to the "lean to turn" style of riding. This thing is considerably faster than other ride-ons making this fun to watch as well as ride. The battery provides hours of cruising and the motor has a surprising amount of torque. When you push the pedal it gets to full speed instantly and even has enough power to go up hill. The wheels under the wings provide smooth banking turns while the single drive wheel in the rear grips the driveway very well even while banking, like a motorcycle tire. The power and brake pedals are well placed and function well. The only issues with the nighthawk are storage and water that collects under the feet in the foot well. Leaves, water and dirt build up leaving the white paint dirty looking. The nighthawk doesn't stand in any way to save space, but it does slide under the SUV in the garage... just don't forget it's there! Calling all thrill seeking children
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First impression when I opened the box for the Nighthawk Storm was how sleek and futuristic-looking it was. With its shiny and smooth curved edges, the simple but functional design is sure to be appealing to parents and love-at-first-sight for any thrill-seeking child. My 6-year old daredevil son could not wait to get on it as soon as it was out of the box. There was hardly any assembly involved. I was a personal fan of the little flag that attached to the rear of the Nighthawk. It’s important to mention that the directions clearly state that the Nighthawk has to be charged for over 24 hours during the first charge. This did not sit well with my son, but it taught him that all good things come to those who wait, because once those 24 hours had passed and he got on that Nighthawk, he had such a blast riding it! There was a bit of a learning curve, and he did stumble or drive off the sidewalk the first few times, but once he got the hang of the coordination involved in stepping on the accelerator/brake and steering, he was zipping around the neighborhood as if he had been riding it all summer long. Within the first 30 minutes of trying it out, three different families with their similar-aged children stopped us to ask what he was riding and that they had never seen anything like it before. However, there are some precautions that need to be taken before using this toy. 6 miles per hour may not sound very fast, but when your child is seated low to the ground on an electric ride-on car, it is fast, and can be dangerous if your child is not wearing proper gear. Protective gear does not come with the Nighthawk, but I’d recommend getting a helmet, knee pads, elbow pads, and wrist guards. Especially the wrist guards, because when my son was initially figuring out how to ride the Nighthawk, he’d use his hand to catch himself on the pavement when he lost control or balance, and it was his wrist guards that kept his hands scotch free. Also, when initially learning to maneuver the Nighthawk, I would also recommend going to a large paved space, such as an empty parking lot or tennis court so that your child can practice turns. Charging is a cinch because it’s a rechargeable battery. We keep the charger plugged in our garage, and when my son is done taking it for a ride, we just plug it right in for when it goes out for a spin the next day. He loves the feeling of having his own little electric car! Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing us with this ride-on vehicle!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 7 year old son was THRILLED to receive this ride on as part of Stellar Product Testing Panel! Upon on arrival it was super easy to put together and set up. The design is really interesting - very sleek and modern. Once fully charged he took off and never looked back! He quickly learned to control and maneuver it within minutes. He zoomed up and down our street for half an hour. Even my 4 year old son took it for a spin! It’s a fast, and very smooth ride compared to most ride one we’ve tried. We love the design and the speed. The only thing I’d change is the ease of accessing the battery pack. It needs to be unscrewed every time we need to charge - my sons plays with this so much that we need to unscrew and put back together numerous times a day.

This is awesome
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] “This is awesome!” were the first words out of my 7 year old son’s mouth after his first ride.
The Nighthawk Storm comes out of the box fully assembled, which is nice. It’s black and red glossy swirl pattern is very sharp looking, and my son loved the look of it. All you have to do is put the flag in the back, and fully charge the battery, which leads me to the biggest negative.
The manual states the battery should be charged for a full 24 hours prior to its first use. Okay. No bid deal… but it also has very specific instructions regarding future charging and maintenance, including that it should be charged at least once a month, even if it is not used or is stored, recharge immediately after each use, charge for at least 8-12 hours, but not more than 20.
Once it was ready to go, it took a few tries for my son to get comfortable balancing and accelerating, but once he got moving, he loved it! My son is pretty cautious, but he quickly learned how to lean to control the direction, and how to use the pedals for accelerating and braking.
My only other criticism, and it’s more just a note, is that when you brake, the wheel does leave a black mark behind. Just worth noting in case you want to avoid marks left behind on the surface you are riding on.
Overall, this is a great ride on, and the joy my son got out of riding is well worth the battery maintenance required. He can hardly wait to take it out again.
Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this ride on vehicle.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My daughter is a little shy with certain toys and always wants help working on new things she gets. I didn't tell her this one was coming, but I prepped it, charged it and then took it out to our backyard and she was so excited when she saw it she couldn't wait to try it out. Let me tell you, this kid has learned to do donuts, skid down the sidewalk and try to beat her speed record day after day - on top of it being super fast and extremely solid solo entertainment for her, it's truly SAFE. I was freaked out that she'd roll right off this thing, but she holds on to the handles and JAMS to her heart's content. Such a cool activity for the kids
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to Stellar Product Testing Panel, my kiddos got to try out this super cool ride on Nighthawk! It takes a little getting used to but I easily compare it to learning how to ride on a hoverboard. It's easy to maneuver and the kids fit comfortably on it.
I will say I don't feel it's meant for "tight" spaces like sidewalks. We let them ride in the driveway and take them to the park to ride the trail.
I love the pedals and count that as a good safety feature. It doesn't take long to charge and it very well designed for both function and looks!
I take 1 star away because of the noise level. At the speed the Nighthawk can go, paired with how loud it gets its hard for the kids to hear when you tell them to stop or wait up. Other than that I would definitely recommend this to anyone!

Great for thrill seekers
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Nighthawk Storm is guaranteed to entertain thrill seekers with its sleek design. There is a slight learning curve to balancing and turning or drifting, but it was pretty easy for the older kids in our neighborhood to catch on within 10 to 15 minutes of riding. The recommended age of 6 and up is consistent with my observations, as kids will need the capability to reach and operate the gas and brake and balance and correct as needed. There are numerous wheels underneath that allow twists and turns to be easy and also safe, which keeps me at ease. A few of the kids have been asking every day to ride! The ride-on has a great battery life and can be used in the drive or even a paved walking path, but I think would be best operated in a double-wide driveway/road, a cul-de-sac, or larger lot to allow for turning (with parental supervision, of course). My daughter would love to see a teen/adult version, as the ride on looks like a ride on all ages could enjoy. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Out of a garage full of toys, the Nighthawk has quickly became the favorite of all three of my children, ages 5, 7, and 9. It came fully assembled and just needed to be charged overnight, which made my husband happy! It has a sleek black and red design and takes up very little space. The safety flag was a great addition since the toy is low to the ground. Within a few minutes, all of my kids learned how to ride it and thought it was so much fun. My 5 year old was hesitant at first, but once he got his balance, he was twisting and turning all around the neighborhood. The way the wheels are situated, it is basically impossible for you to fall off and get hurt, which is important in a house of accident prone children! This toy is the first to be pulled out and always in use by my kids, as well as the neighborhood kids. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First glance I knew it was going to be cool. The black and red color, sleek shape and overall design grabs your attention right away. Charged fast and was ready to go within an hour. Even though the weight limit was on the higher end, the height of the child can make it harder to control. I feel it needed a little more leg room, allowing the legs to stretch out a bit more for a easier control. It does take a few tries to figure out how to maneuver but the kids learned quickly. The unbalanced wheels can be scary with the feeling of falling off but once your child gets the hang of it, turning corners will be a breeze.
I love the flag that alerts others to be on a lookout. Glad to see safety is important factor. Overall this was a fun toy that changes the game in outdoor fun. I received the product as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel

Fun for my 7 year old
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this toy as part of the Stellar Product Testing panel. My seven year old son really enjoyed riding around on this Nighthawk. The design of it is cool, it's low to the ground so he didn't feel like he was going to fall off. I really enjoy how small the toy is, relatively, compared to other ride on toys in my garage. At first, my son was afraid that he was going to scrape his hands on the ground but that went away the first time he turned and didn't get hurt. We rode mostly on pavement - I think it would be okay in hard-packed sand but not loose gravel or grass. Thank you for the opportunity to review this toy!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My six year old daughter is quite the adventurer and this ride-on was such a blast! It took her about fifteen minutes to get the hang of it and then she was whipping around having the best time!
I was a little worried she would fall off but it hasn’t happened yet & the brake works efficiently & quickly.
We found the best place to ride was a flat surface, like an empty parking lot, & it was a little to bumpy to ride on our sidewalks & unsuccessful in the grass.
I think the flag could be a little higher for safety reasons, but overall, a great, fun toy that I’m sure will bring continued giggles.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a large age range of kids. My kindergartener, 1st grader and 3rd grader all throughly enjoyed the Nighthawk! Setup was quick. Directions were clear and to the point. It also encourages gross motor skills and balancing as you have to really balance in the middle when going straight and then lean to turn. At first, my kindergartener had some challenges with balancing but caught on within 10 minutes of use. My children play with it until it dies and needs to be recharged. The battery life has held well with as many kiddos as we have riding it. Much longer than expected. We enjoyed the design of the nighthawk, but they were really focused on the amazing speed! An option would be to make two speeds, a slower and the fast one. Otherwise, this toy has been a hit. Highly recommend!

A fun new ride on for my kids
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We recently tried out the Nighthawk Storm ride-on vehicle with our almost 7 year old son. He was so excited to open it when it arrived. This ride-on comes basically fully assembled, which was great as I hate hard assemblies with toys. The instructions were simple and easy to read and understand.
At first I was concerned that it would be hard to master, as the Nighthawk looks rather complicated to ride. But when my son finally got on it only took him a few minutes to get the balance correct. I love that it can't tip over and that he can easily ride along the sidewalk by our house.
The Nighthawk Storm is black with a mottled red design which looks very sleek. However, I would have liked it more if the red designs were brighter for a more intense look. The swirls are rather hard to see when you are looking at the toy and it would have looked much cooler if we could have seen the swirls more clearly while my son was riding it.
Overall my son loves riding on this toy and was able to ride it during an entire walk around our neighborhood. I would say the only downfall of this fun toy is that you have to charge it for a full 24-hours before you can play with it the first time. Meaning my son was so disappointed that he had to wait for so long to ride it after ripped the box open.
If you are looking for a fun and rather different ride-on toy experience for your kids than this Nighthawk Storm is an exciting way to change up your kids playtime.
Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this ride on vehicle.

AWESOME New Ride
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We received this as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel! Let me just start by saying I wish I had one of these for myself!! What a fun, fun, fun riding toy. My son (7 years, 70lbs for reference) has asked to go out and ride the Nighthawk every single day since receiving it. We started out just using it in the road in front of my house until he got the hang of it. At first his balance was pretty terrible and he kept trying to use his feet to stop and catch himself when he started tilting. I quickly put an end to that habit, and since then, he's been able to balance, tilt, and turn without issue (over I'd say an hour period across 2 days.) He now uses the Nighthawk to ride around the neighborhood while we take a walk, or chase his little brother around. The paint job is pretty cool looking. It is a black base with red swirly design. The seat and handlebars are comfortable to sit and hold on to. My son did briefly complain that his hands hurt, but I think it was because he was gripping so hard at the start. The battery is rechargeable and the power pack has an indicator light to know when it's done charging so you can unplug it. To access the battery, you have to remove the seat, which is easy enough with a fingernail or a butter knife. I think my only complain is that it is a little too loud. When my son gets too far away from me, he cannot heat me AT ALL, no matter how loud I yell. This can be pretty concerning depending on how busy your neighborhood is with cars (ours fortunately isn't very busy.) Overall, he loves it, I think it's great, and we'll be playing with this for a long time!!

Awesome
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] From the moment this showed up on our doorstep from the Stellar Product Testing Panel, my kids have been totally wild about this thing. When we unboxed it, it was already fully assembled, and we just needed to plug it in overnight (the waiting was notttt easy; if you're gifting this, I'd recommend charging it in advance). My 10yo mastered it almost immediately and can zip all over the place; my 7yo was eager to use it, but she had a bit more trouble getting balanced. The turning radius is really sharp, and the kids have felt like they have a lot of control with the pedals. It's lightweight and easy to pick up, so my kids have been able to bring it back inside to plug it in to recharge.
My only issue is that the flag on the back of it isn't tall enough; I worry that because the ride-on is so low to the ground, that drivers might not always be able to see it. (We set up one of the little "watch for children" signs in our cul de sac when our kids are outside playing with it, but I'd love if it had a much, much taller flag that was unmissable.)

Super fun ride on for my thrill seeking daughter
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My 6 year old daughter loves the Nighthawk ride-on! It took a very short time for her to master balancing and steering it. It has 2 pedals to go/stop and she just leans left and right to steer it. Plus it looks super cool and slim/streamlined and aerodynamic. It just looks like a mean thrill ride! I also like that it’s low to the ground and we don’t need to worry about her falling off. It also has a red flag so that we can keep track of her as she’s driving around. The Nighthawk arrived pre-assembled and all we had to do was charge the battery before use– this alone is worth its weight in gold – what comes preassembled anymore?! It’s fairly portable and lightweight (for a ride-on) and it also seems really well-made and durable. Its smaller profile also makes it easy to store when not in use – it doesn’t take up a ton of space in our house or the garage, which I love! My daughter is a bit of a daredevil, she LOVES roller coasters and thrill rides, and she definitely favors the Nighthawk over other ride ons we have because she can go so fast on it. She does need to ride on hard surfaces / pavement – not rocks or grass. The 12V battery provides a lot of power and allows her to go super FAST! The battery also seems to last quite a while – at least 2 hours of use after a charge. Overall, this is super fun for my daughter and her friends and provides hours of entertainment! We received this one compliments of the Stellar Product Testing Panel but would definitely buy another to race!

So much fun riding the Nighthawk Storm
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Oh my gosh my kids absolutely loved the Nighthawk storm it is so cool. The overall look of the Nighthawk Storm is awesome you got your skateboard wheels, the bucket seat to sit in it. Press that button to turn it on use your foot pedals to make it stop and go. Use your body to twist and turn and maneuver it, its pretty awesome. This was a big hit in our neighborhood and at the park everyone loved it. The colors were very appealing looking and represent the name Nighthawk Storm well. At first it was a bit difficult to get the hang of riding it but after they figured it out it was a breeze and they want to ride it everyday. They took it outside in front of our house, also to the park and rode it until it died. The charge didn't seem to last a long time so the kids were annoyed by that but once it was ready to go again they were excited to get back out there. It was very easy to charge though. I would change maybe a longer battery life to ride it. It seems like it takes forever to charge it up and only a short amount of time you can ride but other then that, I wouldn't change a thing. This thing was awesome we loved it.. I received the product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel and we are one happy family that loves this NightHawk Storm Ride on toy Kid tested mother approved we highly recommend it's awesome!!!

Super fun ride on toy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids (5 and 7) are obsessed with their Nighthawk! It took them a minute to figure out how to balance on it, but once they got the hang of it, they were off zooming around! In my opinion, it’s the perfect speed - fast enough to be really fun but not so fast that I’m worried about them getting hurt. My kids liked riding this around a circular track so it felt like they were really racing. As a parent, I love the flag on the back so I can easily keep track of where they are. I also really love the compact size of the Nighthawk. It’s easy to fit in our small garage and also fits easily into our car if we want to take it to a location with more space to ride. The sleek design is also very appealing!
The only thing I would change about the Nighthawk is how to charge it. Having to remove the seat to access the battery is annoying. I wish it was an easier for my kids to charge without my help so they could just plug it in when they were done riding it. Oh and of course I wish the weight limit was a little higher so I could get in on the fun too!!! Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this ride on vehicle.

So much fun So easy to learn and ride
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wowza! We were SO fortunate to receive this ride on Nighthawk vehicle as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel and man was it a hit in our family. Our three older children, ages 7 (F), 9 (M), and 13 (M) were old enough or tall enough to ride the Nighthawk Storm, and I originally thought that it was a.) going to be a big risk or dangerous to ride on or b.) it was going to be too hard to ride.
Boy was I wrong. All three of our older children were able to quickly learn how to maneuver the Nighthawk and zip around our neighborhood park and even in our extended driveway. Our daughter was the first to just zoom everywhere with it and our boys were soon after keeping a time on her so that they could get their own turn.
We received the 12V version and I honestly thought that this was not going to be enough power to really move, but again, I was so wrong. While you could tell it carried the weight of our daughter the best and moved the fastest with her, it still was really quick even for our 13 yo and even he had a blast. We received the red and black swirled design that almost looked like black marble or granite. While a blue, yellow, green or brighter color might have been preferred, the darker red and black swirls turned heads as well. This was a big hit at the park and while we have been socially distancing, I guarantee the kids would have been approached by any kid around.
It is important to note that there is no steering wheel for the ride on vehicle and you use your body to lean to either the right or left to steer. This initially was a red flag for me, but then when you see the build of the vehicle, you realize that it's actually really safe since there are side wheels so that the vehicle sides don't drag or squish any fingers while the kids are riding. It also did not flip over and my kids were really drifting it as much as they could. Like previously stated, my daughter figured out how to steer the Nighthawk the quickest, and I think most of that was due to it fitting her body type the best. It appears that her height (4 ft on the dot) and her center of gravity helped her steer the vehicle easy from the get-go. She also seemed to fit the vehicle the best of my three kiddos. Our older sons picked it up a little bit afterwards but it took them longer, and for our 13 year old, I think it was because his legs were bent up and it was harder for him to depress the gas pedal and brake while his sister and younger brother were able to extend their legs in a more comfortable position. Our 9 year old at 58 inches was definitely the best length for it. His butt fit into the seat and legs were comfortable. Our daughter just couldn't sit all the way back into the seat and depress the pedals but it didn't cause any issues for her to ride. Our oldest might have complained at first too because it took him longer to "fit" the vehicle to drive it like he did.
The park we took the kids to had a concrete trail that swirled in and out and had some straight ways too. They were able to keep it on the sidewalk even with the sharp turns and were able to pick it up to top speed when the sidewalk was straight. They had a blast. Honestly, we had to alleviate arguments because one of them "took a minute longer" than another did. At first they were trying to just learn how to ride it, but once they figured out how to get it going, they started to be able to turn on the curves and then our oldest learned how to drift on it, which he quickly taught his younger siblings. Even at our home, we have a 3-4 car width driveway that they were able to speed up and play on. This was probably where they had the most fun as they had to stay on the concrete so it challenged them on steering and turning it quickly, so their drifting skills definitely were sharpened at home.
There aren't too many things to complain about this ride-on vehicle. The plastic seems sturdy. With a helmet and elbow/knee pads, you feel really comfortable with your children riding it and not worried that it will throw them off. And if they do get to that point they learned quickly how to put their feet down or jump off safely. The handles kept their hands far away from the ground or from being squished during turning which alleviated our worry on that part. One thing to improve on would be to make the sides a little thicker so that if they bump or hit something on the side, they don't break the plastic. That would be the only weak point we observed because the rest of the vehicle was really hardy. I also would recommend offering it in a brighter color, but the darker red swirl pattern did make it look more expensive and high quality than if it was brighter like I suggested.
I think in all honesty, the only really bad thing is that it didn't come in a big enough size for me to ride. I guess I was left with our 2-year old crying that I couldn't get a turn.
