She had a fun time playing with my 8 turning 9 month year old niece and her mother. The doll has soft material for the torso and hard plastic for the legs. I am surprised that even if the cap is removed it had a full head of hair with remains soft and smooth. I had the girls entertaining each other for the day with this chef doll. Yes it might have just spooked the baby since she was of light skin color but she got use to it and instead got jealous when her mom started to rock the doll in her arms.</span>
