He decided his llama was a male and named him Hairy Larry Llama. Hairy Larry is his new best friend and goes everywhere with us, except school. Honestly, I thought the fun would fade after a day or two, but his love for this llama is going strong. The toy itself is super easy to operate; my son is almost 6 but the age label of 4+ is totally accurate. Yes, it does include batteries. Ours was ordered online and arrived chatting away inside the box so be aware if you are ordering a surprise. The llama's fur is extremely soft although he isn't really cuddly due to the walking mechanisms. My son sleeps with him anyway! This also appears to be a well constructed toy. We have had a couple of tumbles down the stairs and Hairy Larry still functions perfectly. If your child loves animals, specifically llamas, please consider this amazing toy. We highly recommend it!</span>
