The Showdown device requires three triple A batteries (not included).&nbsp; When someone plays a showdown card they challenge a player place, place up to 3 cards in the Showdown device and wait some tense seconds before an alarm signals the player to press their respective plunger.&nbsp; The quickest on the draw sends cards flying toward the losing opponent, who keeps the cards.&nbsp; The mechanism doesn't always send the cards in the opponents direction, but it's still fun and the Showdown device has lighted arrows indicating the winner in case of dispute. It was a little tricky getting it setup at first but a lot of fun after we figured it out. The kids love the &quot;jumping&quot; cards. Uno is a family favorite and with the addition of the showdown feature, things get alot more exciting. My 6 year old loves it and wants to play every single day.
