Easy to open and separate pieces. We didn't have to deal with cumbersome wire ties, plastic twist offs or use tools. Upon building train set, I quickly noticed a nice quality plastic build. Plastic was not hard and brittle nor soft and bendy. Instructions are nicely laid out, mostly with colorful images which made putting together a breeze. My two boys (4 &amp; 6) practically put the track together by themselves. The only advice I gave them was that each piece was labeled with letters and/or numbers to identify them, which is genius. The boys definitely enjoyed playing with the toy and took turns lifting the bridge and switching tracks and Thomas. When asked if there was something they didn't like both boys said &quot;no&quot; and that they &quot;loved it&quot;. My 6 year old is very opinionated and fickle at times, and my 4 year old is usually hot or cold about things so definitely a great review from their perspective. From a parents perspective in a 2-bedroom apartment, the size is perfect and gameplay rather quiet. The only small potential drawback is that the boys were quickly done with it as it is limited in gameplay. They did however come back to it for another round of playing. We have many trackmaster sets but this is the first one with a lifting bridge. Its easy for my 8 yr old to set up in his own and add his other sets too. All three of them adore this play set. My 6 year old and 4 year old take charge of building the track and my 2 year old loves to pull up the draw bridge. Very durable track and train- I am not worried about my kids accidentally breaking it that seems impossible! While a young child would need assistance putting together the track it is fairly simple to connect the pieces to build. Kids will have lots of fun opening and closing the bridge while also being able to stop the train along the way with the simple pushing back and forth of a smooth switch. The only thing I'd like to see from Fisher Price with their tracks in the future is a way to keep the motorized trains on the back a bit better.
