He does play with toys roughly and this is actually made very well and can take a good beating. We've been super happy with it and he might have been eaten by Bowser during play time a few times. The extremities are moveable and adjustable. The flashlight can be removed and put back into his hand. The size is great and can easily be taken on the go. He had it hanging from things, upside down, driving toy cars, etc. He's seen the movie so it was nice to have a real life character.
