The light saber looks pretty cool not only to little ones but to adult Star Wars Fans as well :-) It's fun to play with as long as you do not hit anything with it or use it with any force whatsoever. Toys r us inventory system is a train wreck and they seriously have to fix it as I was told by cs that no store had any which wasn&rsquo;t true. When we put them together xmas morning (yesterday) we were surprised how cheaply made they seem. Much more flimsy than we expected and we assumed that they would at least light up but they don&rsquo;t. The collapsible sword part does not go down all of the way and it doesn't make any noises or light up. It was very easy to assemble with the directions that were included. You can build different lightsabers using the given parts. My son really liked playing with it because he is really big into swords right now. He does have a little trouble making the lightsaber slide out all the way but he still likes it a lot . The lightsaber is very light weight &amp; unfortunately the lightsaber doesn&rsquo;t light up. He likes it and has said it is cool, but we do find it disappointing in some ways. I think to really have fun with this lightsaber, you need to buy others in the same line. He likes how you can disassemble it and wants to build his own with pieces of others. On its own, it falls short of some other toy lightsabers we own, especially the older ones. The most disappointing is that the &quot;blade&quot; part is always somewhat visible, so it never fully retracts. The other thing is that he has seen others like this that light up, and this one does not. The bottom line is that if you are a star wars fan and want to build your own lightsaber, this is fun.
