It's fun to play with as long as you do not hit anything with it or use it with any force whatsoever. Ended up not being able to gift it as I do not see this light saber holding up for very long in the hands of a child.</span>

<span itemprop="description">Our sons really wanted these and when I went to get them I was already concerned about the quality. Toys r us inventory system is a train wreck and they seriously have to fix it as I was told by cs that no store had any which wasn’t true. When we put them together xmas morning (yesterday) we were surprised how cheaply made they seem. Much more flimsy than we expected and we assumed that they would at least light up but they don’t. Very disappointing and will probably break quickly.</span>

He likes it and has said it is cool, but we do find it disappointing in some ways. I think to really have fun with this lightsaber, you need to buy others in the same line. He likes how you can disassemble it and wants to build his own with pieces of others. On its own, it falls short of some other toy lightsabers we own, especially the older ones. The most disappointing is that the "blade" part is always somewhat visible, so it never fully retracts. The other thing is that he has seen others like this that light up, and this one does not. The bottom line is that if you are a star wars fan and want to build your own lightsaber, this is fun. If you are looking for a “realistic” lightsaber toy, this probably isn’t the best.</span>
