The straight slide is a thin piece of plastic held up by a couple bars underneath and the two sides of the slide. Very cheap feeling. The tube slide is also very very thin material. Wood also seems just cheap and started to crack in some places when screwing in screws. I had 6 men, all experienced in labor to include one deck builder. Took 1.5 days with a big crew. TOO MANY various hardware pieces. There has to be a way to simplify and reduce the variations of hardware. THIS IS NOT A DIY for your average family. GREAT SET ONCE DONE. Great set once installed. Wood is pretty soft though. My youngest grand son was so excited when it was delivered and he saw the picture on the box he ran up to the delivery driver and hugged him tight. The poor driver spoke no english but got the meaning of the hug. They had lost there grandfather 6 months prior and had been very sad. I wanted to cheer them up and give them something that would last a life time like their memories and I believe we did just that!
