Sadly the frying pan only lights up when you press the button. If you place any of the food items on the pan, nothing happens. So she loves this toy set. It comes with a rubberish fried egg, a cracked egg shell that you can put together and open, a banana that you can peel and also take in and out of the peel, bacon, pancakes, maple syrup, a plate, juice, spatula and a pan that sizzles when you put the bacon, pancake, and egg on. So it&rsquo;s kinda like the real thing. You can the flip the food with the spatula. The pan takes 2 AA batteries, so make sure you have some of those. But my daughter loves making me different meals and cooking breakfast with me in her little pan. I think it&rsquo;s great for learning and the imagination also. I recommend this for toddlers who like to help, or even 1 year olds. It's not your usual set that you get bored after playing a couple of times. This breakfast set is battery operated and super interactive. The frying pan actually lights up as if it's hot. When you place any of the items on the pan, they sizzle as if you are really cooking. When the items are removed, the sizzling sound stops.
