Hello, thank you for your inquiry. Yes, Sharpie Permanent Markers with the Ultra Fine Point can work on rocks! These markers are designed to write on a wide variety of surfaces, including porous and non-porous materials like stone, plastic, metal, and glass. So if you're looking to add detailed designs, doodles, or lettering to rocks, the Ultra Fine Point is perfect for precision work and fine lines, especially for smaller rocks or intricate patterns. That said, here are a few tips to get the best results: Make sure the rock is clean and dry before drawing. For longer-lasting designs, especially if the rocks will be placed outdoors, consider sealing your artwork with a clear acrylic spray sealant once the ink has fully dried. This helps protect it from moisture, fading, or rubbing off over time. If you're looking for bolder or more vibrant color fill, you might also pair them with Sharpie Oil-Based Paint Markers, which are made specifically for surfaces like rocks, ceramics, and wood. If you have any questions, please reach out to us via our official https://www.sharpie.com/support/contact-us website contact us form, and we will be happy to assist further. Thank you! Hi, thanks so much for sharing your love for the Sharpie Permanent Ultra Fine markers. We’re thrilled you enjoy writing with them and appreciate the wide range of colors! When it comes to paper thickness and bleed-through, the Ultra Fine Permanent markers use a bold, fast-drying ink that is designed to write on many surfaces, including paper, plastic, metal, and more. Because the ink is permanent and quite saturated, bleed-through can happen on thinner or more porous papers. Generally, paper that’s 80 gsm (grams per square meter) or higher tends to handle these markers well with minimal bleed-through. For best results and to avoid bleed, thicker papers like those 100–120 gsm or higher are recommended, especially if you want to use both sides of the page. If you’re using thinner notebook paper or standard copy paper, you might notice some bleed-through, particularly with heavy or layered strokes. Your Sharpie Pens, with their water-based ink, are better suited for thinner paper as they minimize bleed, but we totally understand loving the color variety of the Ultra Fine Permanents! We hope this helps you find the perfect paper match for your creative writing and projects. Keep making your mark boldly and colorfully! Hello. Thank for reaching out. While these markers were not specifically designed for fabric, they can be used on fabric. However we cannot guarantee how well they will work on fabric in terms of resistance to water and fading. For fabric, we recommend our stained by sharpie fabric markers.
