There are lots of very small pieces. It was easy to put together, but the directions weren't very clear on when to put the stickers on, so I did have to take it apart to put some stickers on once I thought I was done. It took a little over 30 minutes to put it completely up and it's absolutely beautiful. My sons are 4 and 6 and play with it daily. There are, however, lots of tiny pieces that end up everywhere or just get lost. Within a week they were down to only the big items. We reviewed the small parts and did not find them small enough that the children would try to eat and swallow. The parts are sturdy enough to hold up to a 5 year old and 6 year old. I gave it to my 4 year old niece and we played with it together and she loved it! Playmobil always makes quality products and this one is no exception. It was so easy for her and I to put together, she loved putting the stickers on! She loved all the little figures it came with, and she was overjoyed that the doorbell even made noise! She was entertained for hours with this, I think any kid in her age range would really enjoy this toy. It really got her imagination going as well.
