This is great for sorting, colors, magnets and cognitive recognition. The magnet in the pen will sometimes lose grip if you're moving it too fast, which has been frustrating for my toddler, but also helpful with showing her to slow down and take your time doing things. My son is 4 and while he likes the board as a whole, he doesn't like how the balls are so uneven. One corner only has 2 balls, one has over a dozen. It's just uneven.
