They spray far, but the tank is small so you need to refill often. These are heavy duty and can handle being stepped on and thrown around. Sometimes it is hard to find guns that littles can handle squirting. It I easy to fill, it doesn't leak, and shoots quite a ways away. Immediately he wanted to open it up, fill it and shoot it off wherever he could. I was very impressed with the little nerf gun for sure.
