It can shoot with a left, right or downward curve. This is certainly the most interesting one. It uses soft high impact balls. Its ready to go right out of the box. The loading process is very easy. This is definitely for older kids and require little bit of strength to cock the gun. The balls have petty good velocity and is fairly accurate. I am kind of amazed by the directional firing. The shot curves down and in both directions but the curve is not sharp as 90 degree angle. They boys and my son have been having so much fun playing with this nerf gun. They liked that you can change the direction by twisting the end of the barrel and it directs the sponge balls elsewhere. You get a total of 12 foam balls. I was shocked to see how fast those balls come out. Told them they need to watch were they are shooting so they dont break anything. Was very easy to load and I wasnt able to figure out how it worked till my son showed me. There are no directions on box at least not that I found so I think it should be put on box.
