My 6 year old daughter loved that it was easy to assemble and didn't have too many pieces to overwhelm her since she just started getting into mega blocks. It kept her busy for quite a while which is a bonus. I highly recommend the mega blocks and its adorable that they have the barbie brand as part of their line of blocks. Recommended age is four plus, but I would say five and up would be best. There are two figurines that come with a few accessories to switch out. The tiny turtles were a favorite. Building the car is the most time consuming. The headlights on the car are the hardest pieces to place. Wheels move on the car, which was a fun discovery once it was put together. The beach chairs and accessories are small, as expected, and fun to use. For a kid who wants a quick building set to put together, or a kid who is reluctant to doing building sets, this is a perfect set. Her 9 year old brother helped her build the set and then the imaginative play began! The set was a huge hit with my 6 year old son and niece as well. The turtle are adorable but also tiny so be aware of the small parts! Barbie has traveled all over our house in her Jeep!
