We haven't introduced them to the movies, but they get the general idea of playing super hero and who Thor is. That said, this mask is just that, a mask. No bells or whistles, and a lot of play depends on the imagination. The mask itself is higher quality than I expected, it's not flimsy or cheap feeling. It is easy to put on and take off. Not so with this mask! It is a thicker more ridgid plastic and has a nice thick band of elastic with Velcro in the back to attach it to the head of the wearer. My son and run around and be crazy without it falling off! He has accidentally stepped in it and the mask was fine. Cool design and looks great. The only problem is the nose piece area. The adjustable, elastic strap is about an inch wide which makes it more comfortable to wear for a long time. The front of the mask has a rubberized eye piece. It is better than having solid plastic that would hurt when it gets tapped. The cushion it provides helps out if you bump into something.
