The overall finished product is full of interesting details and can be a great display piece or can even be (carefully) played with as a dollhouse for its small figures. However, we found that some of the instructions were a little confusing at first. After about halfway through, it became easier to understand with practice (and trial and error). Some of the pieces didn&rsquo;t always fit together as expected, but with some convincing, they eventually did. Included is a very useful tool for getting pieces apart when they were misplaced. Any fan of the movie would love this set because the layout is based on the house from the film. They have gotten back into my Barbie doll collection I had as a child, and now are working on building their very own Barbie dreamhouse, thanks to the new MEGA&trade; Barbie&reg; DreamHouse&trade;, which is perfect for kids ages 10+, as it contains 1795 pieces. When we fix opened the box and saw all the bags of building blocks, my girls were a little overwhelmed. You should feel how heavy the building manual is. But, as they started to go through the pages and work their way through each bag, they couldn't stop. They were having so much fun putting together their very own Barbie dreamhouse, that it didn't matter that this build would be with more pieces they are usually used it. I loved watching my girls work together and troubleshoot when they found myself with leftover pieces or placing a piece in the wrong spot. And, then my husband saw them having so much fun, and joined the mix. Before you know it, I also had to join in, as I loved seeing all the different rooms in the dreamhouse coming together. We are halfway through the build, as we do a little each night. But, our goal for this upcoming weekend is to finish it in its entirety. I, for one, can't wait to see it all built, and then play around with it with my girls. You get little Barbie and Ken figures to move about the dreamhouse. And, no dreamhouse is complete without a backyard pool. :-) This set has that and a super cool pink waterslide. Let's just say I am envious of this bright pink dreamhouse, as it as everyhing you could imagine in a Barbie world, and so much more! The play set is pretty large about the size of a large puzzle. This play set is awesome. It is something that me and my son were able to put our heads together to put this master piece together. The details are fantastic. The first floor displays a kitchen living room / rec room and pool side bar. And an outdoor swimming pool and patio. The second floor has Barbie&rsquo;s amazing dressing room and bath room. The third level has Barbies bedroom. The build took me about 16 hours to complete over a 5 day period. My son liked to building hands on aspect of the toy. It came with a massive instruction booklet with step by step instructions. The pieces came packaged in numbered bags to correlate with the instructions, which I loved. The pieces seem to be of great quality and the bonus tool it comes with is amazing! The tool is handy when you accidentally put something in the wrong spot and need to remove it. I would recommend this to any Barbie or build set fan. You build a bedroom, a bathroom, an amazing kitchen, a slide, a pool, a dining area and more! You will get Ken and Barbie figures, and two mannequins to display in the wardrobe. In order to change outfits, you will switch Barbie&rsquo;s head with one of the mannequins. The accessories and landscaping are captivating to my kids! There are tiny cups, plates, food, lamps, a toaster, a pool toy, outdoor lamps and flamingo yard art. Barbie has tiny jewelry and sunglasses! The oven door opens and of course the doors to the house open and close. There are decorative palm trees and flowers to decorate several flower beds around the perimeter of the house. The house is hinged so it can slide apart easily and a kid can play on the inside just like a life sized Barbie dream house. My son loves building sets and my daughter loves Barbie so they have really enjoyed collaborating and working together on this set. Because it is a large set, they build for awhile and if they get tired, they take a break and play with the characters and come back to building later. We aren&rsquo;t quite done building the set, but it has kept these kids entertained for a week so far.
